Lauren represented me for a divorce. She had a month to prepare for our first court appearance. She failed to file basic motions which were needed for the judge to hear the case. Despite her mistake, she billed for a day in court. Throughout the proceedings Lauren’s failed to timely follow up on missing data. In one instance, we were trying to get text messages that would have proven that my ex working. Since the phone company only maintains a 60-day history, timing was critical. My ex along with his lawyers did everything possible to cover up his behavior. Lauren’s lax approach resulted in critical lost in evidence. The result – I supported my husband for over a year at a cost of $100K while he claimed he was not working. In fact, he was working for a friend and getting paid in cash. When I provided Lauren with a text message stating that the friend was bringing him cash, she did nothing about the fact that he had lied on his financial affidavits by failing to report the income. My ex stole company records and passed them along to his lawyers. They passed these files along with passwords to outside third parties. This created a data breach for my company. Lauren did nothing about this despite it being a compliance violation related to my ex’s employment. She treated this like it was a non-issue, and told me I was making a mountain out of a molehill. Yet, when her assistant accidentally dropped off documents related to another case, they promptly fired her. I sent Lauren over 45 affidavits and multiple emails outlining my ex’s behavior during the marriage. He abused alcohol, stole prescription drugs from family members, and physically threatened me. During the marriage, he came to work for my company. He turned out to the be the worst employee ever. When it came time for arbitration, she failed to call key witnesses including the person that took over his job. She turned in incorrect evidence, she focused on his affair (which the judge didn’t care about) rather than his drug and alcohol abuse, and she ignored critical evidence that would have supported his offensive behavior and lack of contribution to my company. Lauren did not have a prepared list of questions for my ex's cross exam. I watched her fumble trying to make up questions on the spot. She spent several minutes between questions trying to review notes while the whole room stopped and waited. When he responded with lies, she was unprepared to follow-up and draw out his deceit. Prior to arbitration, I sent several emails detailing my husband’s behavior during the marriage. She billed for reading each of those emails. Yet, it was obvious that she had no clue. During the marriage, my ex destroyed our home in a fit of rage. I woke up one night with him on top of me in bed hands on my neck yelling at me. I was repeatedly threatened, verbally abused, and spent the last night in our home corned in our bedroom for over 45 minutes. Lauren touched on none of this in her closing arguments. Expert witnesses were called in to put a value on the firm. I am a CPA with over 25 years’ experience. When I tried to discuss issues I had with the valuation, she completely ignored me. OC tried to increase the value of my firm by backing out expenses they claimed were personal. I gave Lauren the backup receipts and payment information proving the expenses were valid. She did not turn this in during arbitration. I prepared a summary of my husband’s calendar showing excessive absences and spending while my husband was an employee of the company. It was a three-page document fully supported by other evidence. Lauren explained that she did not want to use this as she did not want to overwhelm the judge with too much evidence. Instead, she turned in a 77-page office calendar that I had repeatedly told her did not accurately reflect his absences. She said the judge would "get it". I learned that judges aren't mind readers.

Elyssa Williams, the best lawyer I have ever worked with in the most difficult time, season, climate, and situation in my life. She is the most compassionate, kind, professional, skillful, masterful, beautiful, prompt, no nonsense, dignified, caring, patient, detailed, intelligent lawyer that I have met. My mother died from grief and poor help days before I called, my mind and heart was so overwhelmed I could hardly construct a sentence to communicate. But in my heart, and in memory of my mother, I just wanted a chance to live beyond my mistakes--a second chance. Within minutes of speaking with her and giving her the details of what I needed, despite what I was owed, she translated and interpreted my words with ease, accuracy, wisdom and speed. By the following week, my hope increased. During the process, I experienced her care and compassion for people during every conversation. She always answered my calls and always returned them promptly giving me her expert advice and encouraging me along the way. If you're looking for a lawyer during this PANDEMIC she will help make things better, not worst.

What a great law firm. These attorneys are not fly by night, tell you what to do, and then it’s hard to reach them. They are truly experts in the law, they take the time to educate you, and they are pit bulls in the courtroom. But not annoyingly or embarrassingly so. I can tell that they have great reputations with the court and other attorneys alike. I felt more in control with them by my side. I learned so much just from our first main call once I retained then, I just knew that I made a good choice and I hope you do too!

I would like to thank Jim And his staff they were very professional for all his help but beware of the administrative fees they are outrageous no one should have to pay 80% in clerical instead of fighting for you in the court room Jim’s fee for going to Court is understandable but there administrative fees will kill you financially if you’re not careful and for nothing did not get anything accomplished had to hire a new lawyer to get the job done because of their over pricing this is definitely a way of taking advantage of people that’s how I felt I understood they have overhead but when you tell somebody you shouldn’t be more than 5,000 and now you’re in 15,000 and they want another 10,000 on top to continue to fight and it’s not a criminal fight it’s a child custody it doesn’t make any sense to me I understand that we had some hiccups at the court. Enclosing just pay attention find out what are your fees are going to be and understand that their location is very costly for them and they’re passing that onto you just beware

I have ARAG legal. They tried to charge me the wrong rate. When I called them out they called and claimed there was a conflict and they couldn't represent me. They wasted an entire week. Stay away.
