I hired Attorney Crews to represent me on a traffic ticket that I received in connection with traffic accident in November 2020. He was very communicative when we contracted and made arrangements for payments, but did little else after that. My wife and I immediately stressed to him that it would be important to get footage from traffic cameras at the intersection in question when we hired him in mid-November 2020 .He took a look at the ticket I received and said that he had contacts at the prosecutors office and would be able to get this dismissed right away. By early December he still had not requested that the footage be preserved. He consequently was unable to secure the footage, compromising my ability to defend against the charges. Instead, he called to tell us that he'd gotten a copy of the report----which my wife and I had already gotten a copy of on our own. Between 2021 and January 2024 we only heard from attorneys or assistants that worked with Mr. Crews and not Mr. Crews himself, we reached out to him ourselves. In February 2024, I finally had my court date in municipal court, Mr. Crews told us that he would not be able to attend but would send another attorney in his stead. We had a quick phone call with that attorney, Attorney Harrell, the day before court to introduce her to us but not having any meaningful convo about the substance of the case. On the court date, Attorney Harrell was late and by the time she showed, I had negotiated a diversion for myself. My wife and I told her that we no longer needed her/Mr. Crew's services and walked away. When I got home, I saw a missed call from Attorney Crews (he had called my house phone while he should have known I was at my court date). I called him back and he immediately began telling me-- a 63 year-old man- that he was very upset with me and that I had "belittled" his fiance. ((Turns out that Attorney Harrell was his fiance and not just a colleague). He then threatened to call the police if I contacted him again and hung up the phone in my face. He's been dodging my calls and voicemails ever since and has been non-responsive to my request for a refund. This is not the way a lawyer or a man should handle business.

I wanted to express my gratitude for your efforts and dedication for son’s case. I am grateful to you that you took all the stress and restored everything out for us. Your faith, knowledge and determination were something that solved my worries. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for making the decision to take my case, with ONLY having 3 WEEKS left before trail. When you stated you would, indeed, take my case I felt relieved, as you are known as one of the top lawyers in this field of law. From day one, our very first face to face meeting, I knew that we had a chance at winning this thing, and fortunately for myself, this proved to be true. I realize that this was not the easiest case to win, and that you were required to spend long hours researching and putting your presentation together. It is for this that I thank you. You treated me just as well, if not better, than your more prestigious clients. In fact, I was prepared for the kindness and consideration I received from you and your good staff. It was not all “business” with you, it was something more personal. This made me feel secure in you handling our case. I told you from day one that you were heaven sent!!! Thanks to your expertise and prowess, my son’s case not only saw the light of day, but was won. Justice was served. Your dedication, your attention to detail and diligence made this all possible. You and your staff believed in me and my situation, and did not leave my side, but remained steadfast through it all, even when it did not look promising. In the end, it all worked out well. Thank you for not only being my lawyer, but also my friend through this. I appreciate the attention to my health and well being, as does my family. All of us wish to extend to you, our utmost friendship, and hope that you consider yourself an extended member of our family, and if there is anything we can do for you, simply ask. MURDER. /NOT GUILTY MALICIOUS MURDER /NOT GUILTY AGGRAVATED ASSAULT /NOT GUILTY AGGRAVATED ASSAULT /NOT GUILTY THANK YOU LORD & Attorney Crews/ Staff

I showed up in court in a wheelchair back in early February of 2020. I had been going back and forth with the roofing company that put a lien on my home after they failed to uphold the commitments made in our contract. I suffered multiple strokes in those two years, and I could barely catch my breath long enough to argue my case effectively that day in court. While exiting the courtroom Attorney Gibson handed me her card and told me to give her a call. From the moment she handed me that card Attorney Gibson completely took over and handled the situation for me. I never had to lift a finger because she took care of it all. Today my matter is resolved and the lien is removed from my home. Thank you GLF!

Ms. Gibson has helped my client (a startup company) with several immigration issues in regards to securing visas for our employees. Ms. Gibson was always helpful, quick to respond, and did not mind explaining the nuances of immigration law. I will definitely use Ms. Gibson's services again.

Goes well beyond the normal duties provided by most attorneys. Provides counsel based on helping improve your business by finding a way to get the job done. Has a positiive attitude towards accomplishing the objective. Does not list all the reasons why you cannot do something. In addition to providing wise and sage counsel, he helps coach my small business. His 13 years of experience, including combat experience, as an officer in the Marine Corps provides a unique understanding of how to incorporate and integrate his advice into practice within my company, as opposed to just telling me what to do. That is, my people really look forward to hearing how he can help them and my business. For example, in order for my business to survive, the government dictated that we had to become self regulated by joining the old NASD. We did not even know what that meant. Every other attorney, and the NASD told us it was impossible for us to join. The fact that we did not trade securities, by definition, prohibited us from joining the National Association of Securities Dealers, a non governmental self regulated organization. Not only did he help us to become a member of the NASD, he held our hand through the entire process. He did everything from coaching our traders on the floor to sit beside us and fielded all questions in our interviews in Washington DC and Atlanta GA. He drafted and implemented all procedures required to accomplish the result. He even used his network to contact the chairman of the commission. We did not trade any

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Atlanta, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
