From everyone I have known that went through a divorce, they all seem to cost more and take longer than expected. While my case was no exception, I was recommended to Doug by a close friend that used him for his divorce a few years ago. My goal for settlement was an amicable process that could achieve a fair and equitable outcome satisfactory to both parties such that relationships throughout the family could remain amicable. This primary goal was accomplished with Doug's guidance through the legal process with confidence. He seemed to have excellent relationships and reputations with attorneys, judges, etc. that kept things moving forward. He set realistic expectations in the beginning, his staff was very responsive, the billing was clear and reasonable, and regardless of his other case workload he always made time and was well prepared with full knowledge and insight from all our previous discussions. He remained keenly aware of the interpersonal relationships and emotions throughout the entire process and how they impacted the case. One of his qualities that really stood out in my particular case was with my expertise in a particular area he deferred to my knowledge and judgement as if I was not only his client but a member of his team. We worked well together and I would highly recommend him and his firm if you are looking for someone that will take wholistic view and the time to understand what is most important to you in reaching a settlement with your soon to be ex.
