You know the old saying, "You get what you pay for"? It's almost ALWAYS true, and was definitely true for my divorce experience with the Jaffe Family Law firm. I had a no kids, no property divorce that should have been an easy divorce where both parties simply walked away, and instead, I ended up paying almost $200k to my ex, despite no issues or impropriety on my part at all. My ex paid close to $36k for her lawyer, and I'd say that was a good investment. My lawyers weren't prepared in any part of the case, didn't do very much work preparing the case or me for the final court date, and as such, when the court date came, my ex's lawyer absolutely shredded my lawyers. My ex was well-coached and her lawyers well-prepared, and mine wasn't at all. My ex not only didn't complete discovery documents that backed up her claim for expenses, but also lied on her discovery documents on major things, and it still didn't matter. No matter what proof I had about the main issues of my decision to divorce, it just didn't matter. My lawyers weren't aggressive, and I felt like we were on the defensive the whole case, her lawyers were vicious, and I remarked this to lawyers there constantly. I felt like I had to constantly ask for updates and never really knew what was being done on my behalf, which ended up being not much. In the end, I ended up having to pay my ex $2k a month in alimony, plus $5k for her legal fees, plus more than $10k for medical bills. I'm now having to get a third job, and they could care less. If you want more specifics, message me, I'm more than happy to talk about it without sharing private information about the case. I would NOT recommend them.
