This lawyer should be ashamed of herself for what she puts her clients though. Lack of caring and honestly and is only looking for a payout, ultimately stealing from her clients. An investigation needs to be started on this so called firm 🚩🚩🚩

We have used Kaufman Law Firm due to the necessity of having to file a personal injury case in two separate instances over the years. Of course, accidents are not the type of situation anyone wants to have to deal with in the first place. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we needed the legal expertise of a law firm that would diligently pursue the case on our behalf and that is what Jeffrey Kaufman and his assistant Ana Galindo did from filing to settlement. As noted, we had used Kaufman Law Firm several years ago in a personal injury case and based on their professionalism, persistence and willingness to keep us in the loop throughout the course of that case, hiring them again was an automatic decision for my wife and I when unfortunate circumstances again required the need for an legal expert to work to get us fair compensation. We highly recommend Kaufman Law Firm as legal representatives that work tirelessly for their clients involved in personal injury cases.

I was in a bad car accident back in December. I got bombarded with calls and solicitations from multiple law firms wanting to take my case. This was so overwhelming in addition to being injured from the accident. I wasn't sure which way to go and who I could trust to do right by me from a legal perspective. I was introduced to the Kaufman Law firm by a previous client while in the emergency room. I was convinced by what I heard from thier previous client and decided to give them a call. I called next day and knew they were a great fit from our first encounter! I had the pleasure of working with paralegal, Ana Galindo, and attorney, Michael Kaufman. I love how family oriented this firm is. They have families too and can easily relate to what you need. They took time to listen to my concerns, needs, and answered any questions I had. I was not treated like another case number. I can honestly say this firm really cares abouts it's clients. Ana keep me abreast every step of the way. She walked me step by step through the process and was always available if I emailed, called, or texted. My attorney Michael Kaufman was in communication with me as well. I've heard stories of people never hearing from their attorneys directly.....well, not with this firm. Micheal Kaufman was never to busy to call me directly and he spent time checking in on me; he cared about my well being during the process. I can honestly say my mind was at ease because they handled everything for my case. Ana and Micheal Kaufman went above and beyond to make sure that I received the care I needed along with the best compensation! I definitely had a wow experience with the two of them and couldn't believe how much compensation I received, it was amazing! Let me just say that these two are a power house! I am highly satisfied with the professionalism and service they provided. This is my forever legal team if I should ever need them again! If you want a firm that is honest, hardworking, and puts your well being first look no further; Kaufman Law is that firm. My family thanks you, Ana Galindo and attorney Michael Kaufman for everything that you did for me. Many blessings to you both!

I showed up in court in a wheelchair back in early February of 2020. I had been going back and forth with the roofing company that put a lien on my home after they failed to uphold the commitments made in our contract. I suffered multiple strokes in those two years, and I could barely catch my breath long enough to argue my case effectively that day in court. While exiting the courtroom Attorney Gibson handed me her card and told me to give her a call. From the moment she handed me that card Attorney Gibson completely took over and handled the situation for me. I never had to lift a finger because she took care of it all. Today my matter is resolved and the lien is removed from my home. Thank you GLF!

Ms. Gibson has helped my client (a startup company) with several immigration issues in regards to securing visas for our employees. Ms. Gibson was always helpful, quick to respond, and did not mind explaining the nuances of immigration law. I will definitely use Ms. Gibson's services again.

Goes well beyond the normal duties provided by most attorneys. Provides counsel based on helping improve your business by finding a way to get the job done. Has a positiive attitude towards accomplishing the objective. Does not list all the reasons why you cannot do something. In addition to providing wise and sage counsel, he helps coach my small business. His 13 years of experience, including combat experience, as an officer in the Marine Corps provides a unique understanding of how to incorporate and integrate his advice into practice within my company, as opposed to just telling me what to do. That is, my people really look forward to hearing how he can help them and my business. For example, in order for my business to survive, the government dictated that we had to become self regulated by joining the old NASD. We did not even know what that meant. Every other attorney, and the NASD told us it was impossible for us to join. The fact that we did not trade securities, by definition, prohibited us from joining the National Association of Securities Dealers, a non governmental self regulated organization. Not only did he help us to become a member of the NASD, he held our hand through the entire process. He did everything from coaching our traders on the floor to sit beside us and fielded all questions in our interviews in Washington DC and Atlanta GA. He drafted and implemented all procedures required to accomplish the result. He even used his network to contact the chairman of the commission. We did not trade any

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Atlanta, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
