I’d highly recommend Josh and his team for any family court matters. He has represented my father for years and takes plenty of time to understand the situation and explain what is possible given the parameters of the law. In the one court appearance I observed, he was extremely prepared with ample evidence and presented a clear and direct storyline. His delivery in the courtroom reflects his vast experience and understanding of complex matters, often exposing a huge gap in professionalism and preparation from the other party. If you need a professional who takes family matters seriously, call Mason Law Firm.

I am beyond satisfied with Mason Law Firm. I’ve never needed an attorney before & was not familiar with the process I was about to begin, but everyone there was so knowledgeable I knew I was in the right place. I’m so very, very thankful that a friend in the same industry referred me to this office. From the associates, to the lawyer I worked with, to the communication practices, the ease of uploading documentation for them to access, as well as their methods of handling disputes between parties – I could not be more pleased with my choice. I worked primarily with Josh, Cameron, Michael, & Chris. Josh was excellent to work with. He asked all the right questions, dug deeper to find out the root cause of issues, laid out the options available very clearly while highlighting any potential issues. I appreciated his experience & being so forthcoming with what we may have encountered had we taken a different path in this process. I felt supported from the beginning to the end of this process. Even when things would happen over the holidays or weekends, he was able to give me a call or shoot me an email to let me know how to handle the situation or to let me know he was working on my case over the weekend to push this to being final ASAP. Cameron was hands down the most friendly, easy to work with/talk to associate I came in contact with. Being under such stress, he definitely dealt with me during more than one emotional moment during this process and he never made me feel less than, only provided encouragement & positivity. I was so thankful to be working with him part of the time. Chris was also very nice & helpful during any interaction we had and I noticed he made a point to reach out to others if he was unsure of an answer for me. He always returned calls promptly as well. Michael is very knowledgeable, has a critical eye for detail, and super-efficient in his role, however he can be a bit curt, considering clients are in an extremely stressful life situation as well as trying to familiarize themselves with a process they may not have been through before. Regardless, I am thankful for the work he did on my case. Contrary to my experience, my significant other was referred to a *different firm* who didn’t spell check our child’s name on the documents they drew up, answer the client or my office’s emails/calls within a reasonable amount of time or without numerous follow ups, proofread their own documents or even make an effort to put their own clients’ requests into their documents – but instead added requests for things in their paperwork their client didn’t ask for… Consequently, due to their delays & lack of interest in completing the job in a professional, efficient or timely manner, we both opted to avoid further delays in our process and the more expensive steps coming up, by agreeing to prioritize reaching a settlement to reach a resolution sooner than later. Having seen such a stark difference in both offices’ handling of the same situation, I could not be more grateful for the referral to the Mason Law Firm & their assistance in this process. I received with the agreement & resolution I was praying over & hoping for all along. In my opinion, the end result to both parties was a fair & a livable agreement for both sides. Again, I’m so thankful & HIGHLY recommend Mason Law Firm.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Joshua Mason and his team for helping me gain custody of my son. From the moment I walked into his office, I knew I was in good hands. He took the time to listen to my situation and understood how much my son meant to me. His compassion and dedication to my case were clear from the start. Josh and his team guided me through every step of the process, always making sure I understood what was happening and what to expect next. His legal knowledge and attention to detail were impressive, and it was clear he had a deep understanding of family law. He was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns, whether by phone or email, and his communication was excellent throughout. In the courtroom, Josh was a strong and confident advocate for me. He presented my case with precision and professionalism, making sure every important point was made. Thanks to his hard work, I was able to get the best possible outcome: custody of my son. It was a life-changing moment for me, and I owe it all to Josh Mason and his team. If you are looking for a lawyer who will fight for you, care about your case, and treat you with respect and empathy, I highly recommend Josh Mason at The Mason Law Firm. He changed my life and my son’s life for the better, and I will always be grateful.

Great representation! Anytime I had a question they had the answers and helped guide me through the process from day one until the day I received my settlement check. I hope to never be in a situation where I will need a lawyer again but if I do, I will call on Geiger Leagle Group to represent me.

When I first contacted Laura to have a consultation prior to the upcoming hearing I was extremely uneasy and filled with emotions. Her knowledge and compassion for my situation was extremely settling. She brought me calm through the chaos that I felt was my life. Her eagerness and willingness to not only represent me but hear me out was just what I needed. She was a confidant for me when I needed it the most. After speaking with her I knew she was the attorney for me in my time of need. Through the entire length of my case, she answered every question I had. Her hard work and determination proved true throughout my case. Laura is tactful, empathetic, brilliant, patient, and charismatic. If you are in search of an attorney, I would highly recommend her.

The Price Law Group was recommended to me by a dear friend for the unfortunate business of having to go through my divorce. As far as these things go, I believe I have had a comparatively exceptional experience, specifically because of working directly with Emily and Ryan as my legal representatives. Their support and guidance were astute, communication was concise and very well-informed, and we were able to conclude the process in a timely and professional manner. With thanks and gratitude, and in loving memory - and in continuation - of my friend’s thoughtful suggestion, I highly recommend The Price Law Group.

I hired Price Law Group for my brother and didn’t know anything about them. They took the case and immediately started to work. Any questions I had were answered in a professional and timely manner. Lyndsey Little and (paralegal) Jenny Rose (attorney) were great to work with. I would highly recommend Price Law Group.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Canton, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
