For the first case, Elena Sanchez-Curtis handled my mediation during which we settled in my favor, and for the other, she got a settlement for the full amount due to me after mediation, but before going to court. Her knowledge of equine law is extensive and impressive. Elena is easy to talk to and readily available to her clients. I will use her for all of my future needs, and I highly recommend her!

After my husband just up and left. I needed help. Elena and her team somehow in the middle of Covid found him, got him to agree to what I wanted and made the divorce as smooth as possible. In the middle of this I had another issue completely different. I text her late one night not expecting a reply. Within seconds she called me and told me how “we” would be handling the situation, I didn’t have to do it alone which was a huge relief.

Elena and her staff are great to work with. I was definitely glad to have her on my side dealing with the legitimation of my daughter and parental rights. How I wish I could go back in time and hire Elena to handle my divorce and custody modification from the get-go. I would’ve saved myself (and my wallet) from a world of hurt. About two years after my divorce, I decided to file for a child support and custody modification. I was ill-equipped for the battle that came after, and in a moment of desperation hired the first attorney that I met with. What a mistake that was. After ten long months of no action from him that left me vulnerable and defensive in my own case, I parted ways with him in search of someone aggressive who could get it done for my family. I consulted with several attorneys all over Atlanta, and left many of those consultations in tears after being told over and over that nothing could be done at that point. Basically the damage was done. But I was not about to work with someone again who wasn’t on my side. I received a call back from Elena’s office the same day I contacted them, and went for a consultation that afternoon. We had her on retainer before I left the office. Elena was straightforward with me, admitting that my case would be challenging, but she also suggested strategies that no one else had. First off by getting a guardian ad litem involved. As intimidating as that was, it was the best and only way to move forward, and I was shocked that no other attorney had so much as mentioned the idea. Elena has a way of making you feel confident in the direction you’re taking without “sugar coating” anything or giving unrealistic expectations of how things could turn out. She and her team have worked hard to reverse the damage. They always kept me on track during discovery, and even broke a timeline down for me to follow so the time-sensitive task wasn’t overwhelming. She is incredibly responsive, and continues to answer the barrage of questions I throw her way. She offers priceless guidance every step of the way, and always helps me navigate any issue that arises. Something as simple as helping me decide how to respond to an email or text (of which there are many), is just one of the reasons I continue to be impressed by her service. Through failed mediation (not on our part) to my upcoming trial, Elena has shown me not only how to be a better co-parent, but also how to move on with my life in spite of this year-and-a-half long battle. While we aren’t done just yet, as my trial is coming up, the end is FINALLY within reach. All thanks to Elena. We’ve already decided to keep her on retainer after trial as we expect more (albeit less challenging) road bumps in the future.
