I hired Mr Lee for two different cases and it was the best decision I could’ve ever made! He got my felony charges dropped down to a misdemeanor and my probation warranty dropped completely. He was fought for me for years now with these cases and didn’t take no for answer. He kept in contact with me throughout the entire process and answered my calls day or night. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants an honest lawyer!! You will not be disappointed!!

I found myself wrongfully accused. I was beyond scared. Mr. Jerry Lee came to my location immediately and offered sincere interest and HELP. He was the every measure of comfort I needed. At every turn, turns I didn’t know to expect, he knew exactly what to do, practicing expert law, but also comforting me. I’m speaking frankly when I say these things as I had never found myself in a position needing to defend against something awful and untrue. I believe Mr. Lee to have become a real friend, the kind of honorable man I’ll call a friend for life. In the end he did lead me to freedom, but the space between accusation and freedom from it was filled with his application of expertise in all things law, and finesse in helping this client get through it. If you need a defense lawyer YOU NEED JERRY F. LEE!

Jerry defended me against an unfair situation where I was the absolute underdog. I didn’t know what Would happen next. He helped me go against the establishment and come out the victor. A short synopsis, someone who was harassing me filed at work filed a false and untrue police report with no proof after I brought a Hostile work complaint against them. They tried to ruin my name, integrity and steal my freedom. Jerry stood chest to chest with the courts who were certain I was guilty. He pointed out the lies, mistruths and accusations that carried no weight. I watched this man make sure the system listened to me and also made them take me seriously. Jerry F. Lee is a miracle worker. I hope I don’t need to be in a situation where I need his incredibly services again, but if so Jerry F Lee will be my first and only choice.

After seeing this woman on TikTok I would not hire her. She is obviously bias, sexist and uses social media to spread propaganda about women. Considering not all “clients” tell the truth, it is irresponsible to spread information not confirmed in a court of law. I would rather the lawyer I hire spend her time on the case at hand not on TikTok. Be wary of this woman.

I was extremely impressed with Sierra’s compassion but also her immense knowledge of the law and her ability to explain it to me in ways that made sense. When I came out and asked if she could be a “bulldog” she confidentially said yes and as my case moved forward she definitely lived up to that expectation! I was very confident in her ability to represent me well and she did an excellent job. I would definitely use Sierra again and will be referring her to others.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cleveland, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
