I first spoke with David McLeod in December 2020 . I had to retain an attorney quickly due to an emergency custody hearing. My previous attorney was very Ill and unable to represent me. Mr. McLeod met with me and prepared to represent me in less than a week . The emergency hearing was on New Year’s Eve. I cannot express to you enough the level of care and consideration this office has shown me over the last two years. If you want an attorney who truly cares about you and does not treat you like a number I highly recommend this law firm. David McLeod and Alyssa Vaughn as well as the entire office staff went above and beyond to help me and my children in one of the most stressful times of our lives. I cannot thank him and his office enough for the level of professionalism and care I received. Candace and her team are truly the best family law team around. Modifying custody as a father is a very scary prospect. One where it seems we are behind the eight ball from the beginning. I found out my wife was cheating on me. I called a firm in Gainesville and thought I was on the right track. The attorney I hired never called me back and didn’t answer emails. I went to temp hearing and after the hearing I knew I had to change. I called Candace and she took my call right away! She heard my concerns and got to work immediately. What is there to say about Candace Williams?!? First off, Divorce is such a rough thing to go through! With small kids it's the worst! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! With that said, I would definitely recomend Candace and her office if you just had to make that desiciin. She came highly recommended to me, and I'm so glad I hired her. There arent enough stars here to give the rating her and her office deserves. Even though I never wanted divorce she was nothing but courteous and compassionate with my situation. When i had a question or concern, she gave it to me straight! Even if it wasnt what i wanted to hear. I value that brutal honesty so much! I like people to be straight forward with me, honest, and overall real. She's is all of that and more. She's a brute in the court system, and seems like an awesome person even outside of the office! Her employees are great! I had a SUPER long mediation and her intern was so sweet that she took time to check on how i was doing. I felt like, even though i am just another statistic that helped them earn a paycheck her team valued me as a person, not for the money i helped put in their pockets. Candace helped me at one of my lowest points to keep my lively hood and gave me the chance to not only be able to thrive after divorce, but give my kids a great chance to thrive with their dad! I am forever thankful for the hardworking, long hours and honest words. You won't find a better family attorney or office! Outstanding, is the best way to describe Candace and her staff. My divorce has taken 8 long months to get finalized due to the inefficiency of my now ex-husband’s counsel. The biggest issue from his attorney was the lack of communication or even none at all for weeks at a time. Delaying our case for months. However, Candace herself would keep me updated and if I had any questions, her or one of her staff would respond in a timely manner, sometimes within minutes, via phone, text, or email. Watching how the other counsel treated this case, showed me how blessed I was to have Candace as my representation and my appreciation for Candace is substantial. Divorce is absolutely one of the hardest things you will ever deal with in your life; especially being a father.
