Divorce and custody issues are extremely difficult and undesirable, but when it became unavoidable, I was so relieved to have a team at Meriwether & Tharp, LLC represent me and the interests of my children. I settled on this firm partly because I was impressed with just how thoroughly they educate readers through their website, and provide resources online that other firms would charge for. I found that I had made an excellent choice. When my ex-husband was served with the divorce papers, he immediately promised to make the process a "long, drawn out, nasty battle", and he lived up to it. However, Irena Chernova, Kayla Upchurch and others on my team were very professional, communicative, supportive and validating the entire time. Taking the "high road" was always my teams response to antagonism and lack of cooperation from the other side, while never diminishing the strength of my representation. I knew what to expect from my team during the process, which was important to me at a time in my life when everything else was uncertain. Communication and responses were prompt, usually the same day or the next day, and the case was settled in mediation on 7.31.2020, about two months shy of what would have been 21 years of marriage. I'm happy with the terms of the settlement, and even happier to close this chapter my life and my children's lives, and move on. I do not wish the circumstances leading up to divorce, or divorce on anyone, but if that becomes the reality you are dealt, I highly recommend Meriwether & Tharp, LLC.

Irena helped me navigate through a divorce that was nothing short of contentious. It had all the difficult challenges; parenting plans, division of assets and debt, real estate disputes and even an egregiously erroneous counterclaim. While there may be no "winner's" in most divorce cases, being to able to find an end to a marriage dissolution in a fairly equitable way sure seemed like victory in my circumstances.

I unfortunately found myself facing a divorce, and interviewed several different attorneys to help me navigate what turned out to be one of the hardest life events to date that i have ever been through.
