She took my money and didn't send important papers about my case to the judge I have proof of sending money for what was to be took care of I kept getting no answers till I had enough of being deceived i want her to take responsibility and finish the job when was paid for .

Working with Ms. Melton was a great experience. I had interviewed with several attorneys in the area before, hiring Ms. Melton. I needed someone that would be flexible with my schedule since I work long hours. Ms. Melton made this process extremely easy. I was able to communicate through text, emails, and calls after hours. Ms. Melton built trust with me, and I valued her knowledge and advise given which solved this case. I would recommend anyone searching for an attorney to call Ms. Melton office. They are very polite and professional.

She simply states the facts as they are, and does not sugar coat the facts to those she serves just so they may content under false pre tenses. She has to do her job based on Georgia law, even when some laws do not yield the best outcome in some situations. However, she does understand and empathizes with individuals in tough situations. She understands that although she sees and hears all problems of lives on a daily basis, she is not calloused to understanding that for those she serves, whether their problem is large or small, it is a big deal for them, and the most important thing happening in their lives at the given moment in time. She is considerate, knowing her clients need someone to care about their situation as much as they do, and the world of court is like a foreign language to most everyone in need of an attorney. She explains the process well. She also is great to encourage others to rise up and do better moving forward, or to not be defeated mentally with less than desired outcomes. She gives others hope that things will get better. Her own testimony of her life is quite amazing. She is a fighter, an overcomer, and a survivor in life inside and outside the courtroom. That is the kind of person I would want on my side during times relating to court matters. She also has great front desk staff currently that has been super helpful and kind. Mrs. Mae is the best!

Mrs. Melton has been my attorney since about 2013. I walked in to her office with all the money I had. She helped me through a horrible divorce when it seemed no one else wanted to take it on. We have children and it was not an easy case to deal with but she took it on like a pro. Throughout the years, I’ve had to hire her again and again due to my ex wanting to constantly fight. She never backed down and handled every situation like a pro. I never wanted to be in the receiving end of this lady. She’s a go getter and got the job done time and time again. I couldn’t imagine what I would have done without her! If you need someone, she is definitely someone I would recommend!

I recently had an appointment to see Mrs. Melton. Unfortunately, due to a conflict of interest, she was unable to help me. She went above and beyond what she could do to steer me in the right direction and referred me to someone who could help. She did a wonderful job in helping me and giving me hope on a case that I thought was lost. I can never thank her enough for her help. She truly works like no other attorney that I been to and makes sure that her clients had the best representation that she can give. I will recommend her to anyone that needs legal help.

Ms. Melton went over and above representing my interests in a custody case. She listened and worked hard to help me resolve the issues and do what was needed to take care of my children. She asked a lot of questions about my situation, and advised me on the information that I needed to gather to prepare for my case She always returned calls, responded to my requests, and clearly explained everything to me. We hired Mrs. Melton to represent our son. She exceeded our expectations. She worked very hard, and was able to get charges DROPPED. She made us feel as if she really cares about her clients. I have known Ms. Melton for years and you could not ask for a better attorney nor one with more experience. I have watched her in the court room stand toe to toe, against the biggest names in the business of this area. She is a strong woman who will fight when it is needed, she doesn't let politics not big names back her down. She has helped me with many family issues and is the person I turn to when I need legal advice or representation.

I hired Mary years ago for a divorce with two very small children. I was all alone in an abusive marriage and I had no family here, only in Ohio. I brought my children to my consultation. I was upset, as is natural when you are going through a divorce so I was crying a bit as I was talking. She yelled at me for crying and then for bringing my children with me. Insulted me as a mother and told me to stop being weak. When I went for my court date on the Order of Protection I took out on my husband, at the time, she showed up very late and barely did her job. She did not care at all. I sat in court waiting and waiting for her, scared and confused about what was to happen. She never met with me prior to the hearing to prepare for the hearing. Only my initial consultation after I already hired her. When I fired her, I proceeded to ask for some of my retainer back. I paid about $2500 to $3000 if I recall (This was 2006). She was very abrasive when I called about a partial retainer. I then got a letter stating I owed her $900. She had only put in two hours with me and for my case, at the most since I hired her. I believe she tried to scare me into pursuing a refund by stating I owed her more money. I did not pay her anymore money, I never got a partial refund, nor heard anything else from her after that. It took me years to finalize my divorce. I had too much going on to report her to the bar. I should have. I would be surprised if she does not have any bar complaints Regardless, if she has done a decent job for anybody at all, the fact that she had done such a terrible job representing myself, and I am sure others, should make you cautious to hire her at all. I have now been working in family law for several years and I can tell you, she does not follow a professional code of conduct to say the least. She should not be allowed to practice, period. Err on the side of caution and go elsewhere for representation. You may wonder after all these years why I am just now writing a review. I feel now that I work in family law, and have been on this side of it, helping clients, I can testify personally and professionally. I have waited years to write this review. If my review keeps even one person from a terrible outcome due to her representation then that is justice enough for me.

Initial representative in a divorce case. She was extremely unprepared at each court appearance, failed to ask pertinent questions during examination/cross-examinations. Very rude and unprofessional. I guess she forgot I was paying HER. Needless to say, we quickly sought other counsel!
