Falon Stimpson is truly a blessing. I was completely innocent, yet the prosecution chose to pursue charges against me, despite knowing the truth. Ms. Stimpson, with her extensive experience in case law, proved my innocence, and I was found not guilty on all charges. I cannot express enough how thankful I am for her. She literally saved my life. If you’re looking for a lawyer, I highly recommend her. It was the best decision I ever made!

I'm so glad Falon took my case. From the start, she was a great communicator, answered all my questions, and advised on what we should do next. I followed all her advice, and Falon kept me informed throughout the process. We had planned to meet early on our court date, but I was pleasantly surprised when Ms. Falon had already spoken to the solicitor and secured the best outcome by the time I arrived. She’s a wonderful attorney, and I highly recommend her.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Ms. Stimpson for my daughter's legal case, and I am compelled to share my exceptional experience with anyone in need of outstanding legal representation. Communication was a highlight of Ms. Stimpson's service. She ensured we were always well-informed, providing updates and clear explanations every step of the way. This level of transparency and dedication not only comforted us during a stressful time but also built a strong foundation of trust. The commitment she showed in my daughter's case was beyond what we could have asked for. Her unwavering support and relentless advocacy were critical in securing a favorable outcome. She is not only skilled in her profession but also deeply cares for her client's well-being. I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Stimpson to anyone seeking a lawyer who offers both expertise and empathy. I don’t usually write reviews but feel Ms Falon Stimpson, of Drake & Estes Law Firm, deserves recognition and appreciation for her dedication, communications and commitment to not only to her Attorney’s Oath but to me and my family. Ms Stimpson represented me in a Trespassing case, that happened in 2021 but due to COVID, it was just heard in late March 2023. Although she was assigned Pro Bono, Ms Stimpson always treated us with respect and integrity. She returned calls and emails; she took time to listen to my side, she explained processes, options, possible consequences with respect, dignity and in verbiage we could understand. n a day & age where attorneys are usually not in favorable spotlights, Ms Stimpson IS THE EXCEPTION! We highly recommend Ms Stimpson! To conclude, Ms Stimpson worked hard on my case. It was dropped. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be on a much better path and would seek her legal counsel without hesitation should the need ever arise. Thank you Ms Stimpson!

From the moment I met my Attorney Mrs. Dix I KNEW I would be taken care of. She took hold of my case, was communicative and there for me the entire time. Day of the court hearing I was a mess but she walked into that courthouse with a level of confidence that put me at ease. She was very professional, fast and to the point. I loved working with her and have already referred her to a few others within my network.

I have used Attorney Caycie Dix-Miller the past 1 year, and she has given me great legal advice, and great representation at a affordable price. I highly recommend her. She is very punctual and professional, and she makes sure that she sees the case through from start to finish. She also has a great legal team that she works with which you are able to communicate with at any time during the business day. They always return calls or emails. It is very refreshing to have an attorney that will fight for father's rights. Keep up the good work.

Caycie Nix-Miller was exceptional in providing me guidance, support, and legal advice. From the first day of meeting her, I felt that my custody case was in her best interest. I was scared and full of emotions throughout my legal journey. Attorney Dix-Miller calmed my nerves and constantly let me know that everything was going to be okay. This was my time having to retain an attorney and I am grateful that I had her to hold my hand. I appreciate the professionalism, honesty, time, and overall care. I was able to resolve my custody case with ease. I would highly recommend Attorney Miller over and over again.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lawrenceville, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
