She not only introduced us to other resources and professionals that helped us on our journey, she was able to connect us with the young woman that eventually became our Birth Mother when we were chosen to parent her baby! My story is like many others, I am sure. Divorce, custody issues, fear of ex-husband, my daughter's biological father, over a long 8 years! I was nervous to begin this adoption case for the fear of opening that nightmare "can of worms". I had talked with another attorney that made the process seem quick and easy which was music to my ears BUT when I started to ask the hard legal questions I was told she would have to check and get back with me (which didn't happen). This was not the confidence level I felt safe with. I was given Mrs. Hicks name by a business contact and after the first phone conversation I felt so confident in proceeding. Mrs. Hicks was so thorough, knowledgable, and eased my worries immediately.
