Trying to choose a lawyer is a scary experience when you are already in a situation where you need one. However, David Judah has by far been one of the best choices I have ever made. He educated me on aspects of my situation that allowed me to make more informed decisions.I felt comfortable and I appreciate the knowledge that was shared. It definitely gave me peace of mind throughout my time working with him.

This man knows his stuff. I was never left in the dark. He took the time to explain in great detail that I left his office very confident that I hired the right lawyer. I had another problem in which he recommended another lawyer which was amazing as well. He is truly the best of the best...

I lost my restaurant 5 years ago. I hired Attorney Judah. From the 1st tome meeting with him I was put at ease and the Attorney told me up front my options for Debt relief. The staff was friendly and professional. I built a solution relationship with Judahlaw. The process was professional and the office staff guided me to freedom. It was painless. A lot of hardships cured me to fall ill with anxiety and depression and this office called to check on my wellness. I was able to get a government job and my truck was paid off very early because of Judahlaw bankruptcy process. I’m very happy to say I’m now Debt free and I’m closing on a new house. It will take some work to May payments and I did it! With the amazing professional of Attorney Judah and his staff. I would advise everyone that needs financial freedom to contact this law office you will not be sorry! I’ve also referred several clients as well. Call and make an appointment today don’t wait!

Very dissmissive and matter of fact type attitude once I became a client. Staff very unprofessional in the few times they responded to my concerns. Unreachable by phone once youve paid all fees. Never gave updates and basically let my case get dismissed for lack of communicating pertinent information and basically said it was my fault. I do not recommend this firm!!!!!!

Ms. Moon is currently handling a case for me. I was served with court papers, at my office, completely out of the blue for contempt. Ms. Moon immediately put me at ease on my first office visit. She wanted every last detail I could give her about the incident. During the time that we were waiting to go to court, she has kept me informed of every movement she has made on the case. Ms. Moon, as well as her assistant Ronni, were always accessible to me anytime I needed them. All phone calls and emails were always answered. Ms. Moon represented me in court last week and did an excellent job. Because of the complexity of the case, we are still waiting for a ruling from the Judge. Ms. Moon has continued to study all cases that are pertinent to my case and has forwarded them to the Judge. She spent a whole day with me preparing for my case and stayed after hours at her office to make sure I was comfortable and informed of the court proceedings. Ms. Moon came highly recommended to me and I did my research before I hired her. I was impressed with her resume of experience and the cases she had tried in the past. No matter what the outcome of my court experience, I felt that Ms. Moon gave 100% to my case. When I was with her I felt that I was the only client she had. I would recommend her with no hesitation......

I recently lost my husband unexpectedly after 44 years of marriage. Following his death was the painful process of probating his will. Allison Crain helped me during this time in so many ways. Always professional, she answered questions in a way that, even in the confused state that I found myself in, was clear and concise as she helped me through this process. Her professionalism and dedication went beyond my expectations. Allison has a heart of gold; always kind and very compassionate. Understanding the stress I was feeling, she reached out to assist me in any way she could. She is one of those individuals you feel you have known all of your life as a friend. I can’t speak more highly than that of Ms. Crain, both professionally and personally.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of McDonough, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
