Choosing Jordan Van Matre as my attorney was one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only does Jordan embody all the attributes of a top-notch attorney--knowledge, integrity, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the law--but he also surpasses them with his compassionate approach and dedication to his clients. Jordan's commitment to excellence is evident in everything he does. In the courtroom, his strategic thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and formidable advocacy skills ensure that he is always prepared and persuasive. However, it's his personal investment in his clients' well-being that truly sets him apart. Jordan is not just an attorney; he is a steadfast supporter and advisor. He understands that behind every case are real people facing real challenges, and he handles each situation with empathy and respect. What impresses me most about Jordan is his ability to connect on a human level. He isn't just performing a service; he cares deeply about the outcomes of his work and the lives of those he represents. This genuine concern and dedication are rare in any professional and invaluable in legal matters. If you are looking for an attorney who will tirelessly advocate for you while treating you with the utmost respect and kindness; Jordan Van Matre is truly a remarkable lawyer and an even more remarkable person.

Not sure where to begin, Take the profession out of it for a moment and what I found about "The Guy " Jordan Van Matre is simply defined but almost non existent and rarely found, He's simply a man of integrity, someone you can trust and believe in, To me he became a friend and not just my attorney. After telling him about the initial reason I came in, a car accident I explained a situation about my dad passing and my half brother the executor pretty much ignoring me in what should of been done, I was homeless at the time and down for a while, Jordan later got the 35,000 and the car my Dad left for me, looked at me and said I'm not taking anything from that you need it way more than me. I gave my 5 kids $5000 apiece it's not much but at 18 they will receive it and it will be available to get there life started as adults with a car or whatever is needed. That's Made possible by a selfless, believer in the Lord, Stand up for what's right, non judgemental and solid in his commitment to you and your situation attorney at law, Jordan Van Matre. I consider him a friend and stand on you will meet no other attorney whose as easy to talk to and cool as a fan, in his fight for me and you though, I got a little behind the scenes view, he put on the heat...He's a helluva guy, I consider him a friend, my lawyer for life, a fighter for us we can Trust. Thank you Sir for the work you did and for when it comes to attorneys, being "That Guy" Jordan Van Matre

I am truly blessed, and grateful for the help Jordan has given me! He is very knowledgeable, and knows what he is doing. I put all my trust into him when I hired him for my case and it was one of the best decision I've made. From instantly jumping into my case, to directing me every step of the way until the end, answering every question i had, and also keeping my head up! I can not thank Jordan, and Heather enough!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of McDonough, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
