My son was at the wrong place and time. The situation proved not to have anything to do with him. He turned himself in and was denied bond during COVID , he has a preexisting condition that proved scary for all of us. We hired a different lawyer that proved not to be the right choice in the early stages. Once Stacey was hired she was very thorough about this process and the services she would provide. This was a process that lasted for 4 years and she was dedicated and committed for the entire process. I value her honesty and integrity. I’m glad to know her and would recommend her with a 10/10 experience each time.

Stacy is the best attorney anyone could ask for!! She is dedicated to getting the best result possible for every client as if she was fighting her own case. She truly wants the best for her clients and doesn’t give up until she gets just that. If it wasn’t for Stacy and her hard work and determination I would be sitting in a very different place today and for that I owe her far more than what she charged for her services. I highly recommend her to anyone that has legal issues, big or small. Unlike many other attorneys that will just take your money and settle for whatever the DA recommends, Stacy will fight for you and your freedom! Thank you Stacy, you are the best!!

Pros
1
Stacey is a dedicated and tenacious attorney who will go above and beyond to get the best possible outcome for her clients
“She is dedicated to getting the best result possible for every client as if she was fighting her own case. She truly wants the best for her clients and doesn't give up until she gets just that.”
2
Stacey is highly knowledgeable and skilled in the courtroom, with a reputation for being respected by her peers and the court
“She is a no nonsense kind of person who says it like it is, even if it's that you screwed up. Having said that, she treats you with respect and she will go to battle for you. She is also well respected by her peers and the court.”
3
Stacey provides personalized and attentive service, keeping her clients informed and involved throughout the process
“She is personable but stands her ground. She will be completely honest with you, (Even if its something you don't want to hear) so you never have to wonder what she is thinking or what she is planning.”
4
Stacey is willing to take on challenging cases and has a track record of achieving favorable outcomes, even in seemingly hopeless situations
“My case was bad. I mean baaaaad. I made a mistake and talked too much with police. When I hired her, there was no hope. I was sure going to prison. The District Attorney's office made it very clear they wanted to go to trial, they swore they had a solid case. She fought for me. She fought hard, she fought smart and she didnt back down from anyone.”
5
Stacey is described as a compassionate and caring attorney who genuinely cares about her clients and their well-being
“Stacey became more than just an attorney, she became part of my family. Early on I knew that I had hired the right person to represent me. Honestly I felt like she was my guardian angel.”
Cons
1
Some clients have experienced issues with Stacey's responsiveness and attention to their cases, particularly when she has other high-profile cases
“No grandmother should ever have to hear these words in court after months have passed and thousands of dollars paid. 'I didn't have time to review the evidence or prepare for this case because a bigger case has come up that I need to devote more attention to.'”
2
There are concerns that Stacey may prioritize certain clients over others, leading to a lack of attention or preparedness for some cases
“It's very concerning that a person can have ratings of all 5's AND 1's. This happens when you say 'no case is beyond defense' but turn around and fail to defend your client after you have been paid thousands of dollars while the 'big case' takes precedence.”

Lisa is a great attorney. I was in a car accident last November in Atlanta and I was referred by a family member to go to her office. Her and her office staff kept me informed and updated on my case every time that I called as well as anytime that they needed information from me. They worked diligently to settle my case with enough money to take care of all my car repairs as well as the diminished value of my car after the damage from the accident.

We had a serious car wreck with many complications. Bill handled everything from the very beginning — from our medical issues to the final proceedings. He was very knowledgeable about how these issues needed to be handled and, because of that, we feel that we had the best possible outcome. We have and will continue to refer him to our family and friends if the need arises.

Bill is the best, from start to finish he was amazing, I had a bad fall that required surgery and he worked diligently to get my lawsuit settled . If you find yourself in a similar situation do not hesitate to call him. I am extremely grateful for everything he did for me.

Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Newnan, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
