I recently had the pleasure of working with John Lovell, and his team at John Lovell Esq. PC and I couldn't be more pleased with the level of professionalism and expertise they provided. From the initial consultation to the final resolution of my case, John was attentive, thorough, and always kept me informed every step of the way. He took the time to listen to my concerns and provided excellent advice and guidance throughout the entire process. I truly felt like I was in good hands and that he had my best interests at heart. What sets John apart is his specialization in representing clients in federal court throughout the U.S. His extensive knowledge of federal law and his experience in federal court gave me confidence that my case was in the right hands. Not only did John provide exceptional legal services, but he also demonstrated a genuine concern for my well-being and the outcome of my case. I appreciated his ability to explain complex legal matters in a way that was easy to understand, and his willingness to answer all of my questions and address any concerns I had. Overall, I highly recommend John Lovell, Esq. and his team to anyone in need of legal representation in federal court. John Lovell has literally saved my life . I was facing a multiple federal drug charge indictment before I met John. John immediately reviewed my case without being given anything and created a plan for me . He not only frequently checked on my case, but he also would communicate just to see how I was doing. I am a college student and he helped me through the most difficult time in my life. Ultimately he was able to get a full dismissal, which is extremely rare in the federal court system. The moment I met John I knew I was in good hands as he never made a guarantee but he he promised to fight for me, which he did. Once again I can’t think him enough. He is someone that you can count on during a stressful time. He is one of the best lawyers in THE WORLD ! I can write a essay on how awesome of a person he is . Just a simple conversation with him will habe you at a peace of mind.

John Lovell , is an outstanding Attorney who deserves the upmost respect and recognition for his hard work ethic. He handles his cases not only on a professional but a personally level. Unlike most attorneys who seek to make a quick dollar and get your case over with, John will carefully examine your discovery and build the best defense possible for you. When we first met I felt as if my life had taken the wrong turn and everything was over. Mr.Lovell gave me encouraging words of faith and advice that will live with me for the rest of my life. He is a man of integrity who will under promise and over deliver. I am forever thankful to have him represent me and would highly recommend you retain him if your looking for a quality and genuine attorney.

During one of the most confusing and frightening times in my life, I was able to find John Lovell to work on my defense. He was incredibly supportive, listened to me and acted as the best advocate. Truly honored to write this review and grateful for the opportunity to get to know him. In a world of attorneys on every billboard, Mr. Lovell is by far light in the darkness.

I am a contractual-based computer programmer and performed work for a Macon, Georgia Internet development company from 2006-2010. I was working under essentially a verbal agreement with no written contract. That's all well and good when things are fine but when push comes to shove, verbal agreements are worth the paper they aren't written on. As it turned out, the company encountered financial difficulties during 2010 and eventually told me they no longer needed my services, refusing payment to me for two months worth of work plus a flat-fee service agreement. Mr. Finkelstein contacted the company on my behalf and negotiated a settlement with very quick results. I was extremely impressed with the way he presented my position, which was pretty weak to be honest, and he came through when another attorney may not have been able to reach an agreement. I highly recommend Mr. Finkelstein to anyone needing the services of an attorney.

Wessels & Gerber in Newnan has helped our closing go through seamlessly and professionally. Savannah Waldrop was a joy to meet. Kept papers organized well and sequenced rotations of signatures, which helped with the time of the process. All while keeping us well-informed about certain questions and terms. Light-hearted and helped ease up the anxiety of the room as first-time home buyers. Thank you for everything and would highly recommend them.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Newnan, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
