I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding service provided by Ms. Kim . From the very beginning, she demonstrated a deep understanding of my case and worked tirelessly to ensure I received everything I was entitled to. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to my best interests were evident throughout the entire process. She not only navigated the complexities of my case with skill, but also made sure I understood every step along the way. Thanks to her expertise, I received a fair outcome, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Going through an injury claim for the first time was confusing- after retaining Adam as my attorney, he was able to guide me to exactly what to do in order to not only get myself better-but also to recoup damages. I highly recommend his services to anyone needing similar guidance and looking for successful outcomes.

First, I want to say Kim I appreciate you so much you fought hard for me and made the entire process stress-free and effortlessly with my chaotic schedule. From the moment she took on my case she was very hands-on, open, and honest. Anytime I needed to reach out to her I received feedback immediately and in reasonable time frame, as she never left me unanswered. I recommend Kim a million times over and over and over again, I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you to the entire staff and most importantly Kim she got the job done and got what I deserved.

Pros
1
Exceptional client service and communication
“Adam wasn't my lawyer at first but when he step in it was the smoothest transitions I have ever seen or experienced. He took care of everything and was actually able to get me a lot more than I thought I was going to receive. Always available and always has an answer for your questions I would recommend you to anyone looking for representation.”
2
Aggressive and effective negotiation skills
“Adam Appel was amazing (and nothing short of it). [...] He looked into every possible scenario, and challenged the insurance company when needed, he reached out to an attorney who had expertise in airbag litigation to see if we had a case, he reached out to another attorney and we had a conference call on a Sunday afternoon.”
3
Compassionate and understanding approach
“Adam was the most understanding, attentive and caring lawyer I could ever ask for. After being injured in an accident, I was unable to continue working. Consequently, the bills were piling up and I had no resources to turn to. Adam handled my case with such compassion and diligence and made sure to provide me with the utmost attention throughout such a worrisome time.”
4
Successful track record in obtaining favorable settlements
“Adam wasn't my lawyer at first but when he step in it was the smoothest transitions I have ever seen or experienced. He took care of everything and was actually able to get me a lot more than I thought I was going to receive.”
5
Strong expertise in personal injury and insurance law
“I have had the pleasure of knowing Adam for the last 22 years. I have used him to represent my insureds at several insurance companies I have worked for. He is always on top of his files and is very responsive. He clearly identifies your case's strengths and weaknesses enabling you to make the best decision for your insured. Not only are his trial skills strong, but his insurance coverage knowledge is as well.”

Maria was uncommonly exceptional! She was not only a very competent and capable lawyer, Maria genuinely cares about her clients. While most law firms focus primarily on how much money a case will bring, she cares about doing what's right and what's best for her clients. She worked hard to help my family through a very complex and difficult situation, and were more than fair with her fees. Our case would have gone nowhere without her.

She helped my family go through the immigration process until we got our green cards. We went through 3 lawyers, and were very happy when we met her. She knows what she's doing and always kept us informed.

I cannot speak highly enough of Pendergrass Law Firm. After a devastating injury, my partner found them through a Google search and was immediately impressed by their high rating. From the moment I reached out, they were compassionate, knowledgeable, and supportive. Beginning on the day of my injury, they were there to offer solid advice and explain the legal process in a way that was easy to understand. Their patience and proactive communication made the entire process much less stressful. I had the pleasure of interacting with several members of the firm, but Marie deserves special recognition for her exceptional work in closing out my case after two years. She was diligent, dedicated, and ultimately secured a fair settlement. If you're unfortunate enough to suffer an injury due to someone else's negligence, I wholeheartedly recommend Pendergrass Law Firm. Their expertise, compassion, and commitment to their clients are truly commendable.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Norcross, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
