So thankful to have been referred to Mr. Sauls. He and Ms. Sherri showed a deep understanding of my personal situation and demonstrated empathy throughout the process of my 10 month divorce process. Their attention to detail and thorough review of my case details led to an outcome that I was very thankful for. Their top priority was not only making sure that I was able to care for my children in the future but to make sure that I was always comfortable with their response to the opposing side. I am very grateful for their unwavering support and exceptional commitment to me as their client. Not only did I come out with better results than expected I gained 2 life long friends. I would highly recommend this law firm.

I was going through a custody battle with already having temporary custody of my daughter. Today my case finally settled!!! I'm very thankful about what Trey Sauls and Sheri Musselman did for me and my family for the last 3 years. During those years they fought very hard for me, and they did everything possible for my case to settle. They also kept me in touch with everything that was going on with my case. Now I'm a father with permanent physical custody. Mr. Sauls and his team are very professional and the best at what they do! I will definitely recommend them to anybody who is going through any legal issues.

I am forever grateful for their help. Mr Saul decided to take on my case without any hesitation. With his in depth knowledge and easy to talk to personality, he has made my case into a big success. This firm made me feel comfortable as well as keeping constant communication with me while answering any questions I may have. You will not be disappointed with Saul’s law group and his services as well as his amazing helper Mrs Sherri 👍

Excellent family law attorney. Trey and I were co-counsel on a local Hall County case With a lot of complex issues and facts. Trey was truly an officer and a gentleman. He is lethal in a courtroom and I thoroughly have enjoyed working with him. You cannot go wrong in hiring, Trey Sauls and his firm to represent you in a family law case.

Trey Sauls is a horrible attorney! Don't waste your money! If you hire this man you will lose in court. In a very simple military divorce case Trey Sauls convinced that he could convince the court to make my spouse pay my attorney fees. He filed a motion for attorney fees and lost. We ultimately went to court and lost the divorce case in court. Do not waste one dollar on hiring this man. He will play on your emotions and convince you that he knows what he is talking about. After you lose your divorce case with this man he will continue to bill you for hours that he didn't spend on your case. Do your self a favor and DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY for your divorce!

Ms. Fortunately was truly a Godsend! I was at a low point in my marriage and NEEDED out! I was concerned because my now ex husband was incarcerated and I didn’t k ow where to begin. I saw a billboard one day while heading to Atlanta and I sent an email to Ms. Fortin and that is where the magic began. It took 5 months from start to finish ONLY because my ex was dragging his feet about signing the papers. Not only was she an excellent and diligent attorney; but, when I was emotional, she encouraged and consoled me. She said she understood! The personal touch was evident and felt. I never met her in person and was able to handle my entire divorce via email and phone calls. She knows her laws, she knows what it takes to get it done and she helps guide you during the entire process. She constantly keeps you updated on the progress of your divorce and i would recommend you do yourself a favor and retain her for your legal needs. She was also quite affordable! Thank you Attorney Fortin for such excellent and professional service!

Phillip was not the first attorney I contracted, but I am grateful I hired him when I did. I learned early on that the complexity of my case required an attorney that is knowledgeable, experienced, and personable in order to have a successful outcome. My future and that of our daughter demanded it. I cannot thank Phillip and Becky enough for successfully helping us over every hurdle with confidence.

I hired Phil McCurdy to represent me after Firing my previous attorney, two years into a lawsuit. My previous attorney acted in a way that would make you think he was working for the other side. A friend recommended Phil to me and I wish that I asked that friend for his recommendation in the beginning. Phil was able to provide some light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. If you’re looking for an attorney, who will care, will be your advocate, and is just an overall refreshingly genuine human being; look no further, you want Phil McCurdy in your corner!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Peachtree Corners, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
