I highly recommend Lisanne she’s absolutely awesome. She was there for me when i was at my worst in my life. I was pushed in a corner with my back against the wall facing a serious aggravate assault & i almost lost everything i worked so hard for until i met Lisanne. She made me feel so comfortable treated me like family she would always check in on me to make sure i wasn’t stressing about the situation. She told me to just relax & keep the criminal stuff with her & live my daily life. She worked so hard for me & my results were amazing. I know these lawyers get paid for what they do but i can honestly say she has her heart in it & she enjoys what she does. She has a passion for this i love her so much for helping me get back to my life with no record.

I had the bad luck of being in the right place at the wrong time! A total miscarriage of justice began on that major Holiday weekend (remember Holiday, no judge, no Bond) putting me in jail…a “scared straight-type experience”!! The recommendation of a close friend put The Don Turner Legal Team, of which Attorney Lisanne Edelman is a key player, in touch with my wife, and Don showed up at the earliest possible moment that the judicial system would allow. Don assured me he would do everything in his power to help me, and he immediately did. Don was a familiar face with a strong and solid reputation with the Magistrate & Prosecutor, and he secured my immediate release. When I went to the law office, Don & Lisanne explained exactly what I had been charged with and we reviewed some scenarios, all while they reassured me that they truly believed the outcome would be favorable. In the months before my court date, if I had a question that one of the staff members couldn't answer, Lisanne would call me very quickly. Lisanne Edelman is a terrific attorney who doggedly pursues the issues to their ultimate favorable resolution! Don’s office staff, notably Ashley is a fantastic administrator, who “keeps all the plates spinning” in the office!!! Lisanne does everything to lessen the burden on you and help you deal with the obvious issues that are going on in your life. She was more than helpful, extremely polite, and very open-armed when it came to me having any questions at all. She went out of her way to make sure that I had all the information available to me when I needed it. As the court dates become closer, I naturally became very nervous and Don & Lisanne told me to not worry. They reviewed all the evidence and felt good about potential outcomes. Inevitability, Lisanne contacted me to let me know the court date had finally been set. That’s when Lisanne went into 6th gear while continuously reassuring me! Don & Lisanne’s collective Judicial system experience and relationships resulted in the most favorable outcome possible for me! A potential travesty of justice was averted, and ALL because I had the Great fortune to have Lisanne Edelman on my Team watching my back!! I would highly recommend Lisanne Edelman & The Don Turner Legal Team! I feel good talking with them, they listen to what I have to say, and first & foremost, I trust Lisanne & the Don Turner Legal Team!! Their slogan really is Really true, they truly are “Dedicated to Serving Clients in an Extraordinary Manner”! Lisanne, the words Thank You can’t express my gratitude adequately!

Lisanne was helpful and gave me multiple options to help me with my infraction. She was respectful of my time and her correspondence with me was professional and immediate. She worked with me to ensure that I felt comfortable and prepared to appear in court. Lissane is very knowledgeable and I would work with her again.

I hired Lisanne for a personal matter where I was accused with theft by taking because I grabbed someone's cell phone in error believing it was my husbands while we were leaving an establishment. I am in a professional industry and it is very important to my career and just plain personally that the charges against me be dismissed. I've never been in any legal trouble and the charge against me was absolutely humiliating. I turned over my reputation to a complete stranger and she was able to handle all matters with little involvement needed from me and got me a dismissal and my arrest record hidden from the public view. I am very pleased with my selection of representation and recommend their services highly!

I hired Lisanne to represent my daughter while facing her 3 rd DUI. My daughter was in a sober living out of state and Lisanne worked diligently to be in close contact wth her before her court date. She was very thorough with her case and even went above and beyond to help my daughter make sure she has everything she needs for her probation outcome. She checks in with my daughter regularly and keeps me informed. She was very accessible through the whole process. We can't thank her enough for all her hard work and continued efforts. Andrea.

My mother (a challenging soul during the best of times) employed him to write her will several months ago. During this time, he exhibited kindness and patience and wrote her what I can only call a beautiful will. He is reasonably priced and very good at what he does. I used him to probate my mom's will when she passed a few months ago and he did so in a very short period of time, also for a reasonable price. I cannot recommend him more highly and plan to use him for my own family's estate planning and end of life planning in addition to any other legal needs that we have.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Roswell, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
