He also got my probation terminated and my fees lowered to half of the original and The original charges dropped. Disciplined by the State Bar of Georgia - Before you considering hiring Eric Shapiro, visit the State Bar of Georgia web site to see how Eric Shapiro, Family Law Attorney in Atlanta has been cited. Next, call and ask him the following: 1) Does he have the staff that he promised to add in the bar complaint; 2) Since the complaint, has he missed an important court filing, or filed a brief outside the term of court in any case since he was disciplined; and 3) Has he not shown up for, or cancelled hearings at the last minute. You can see through Eric's posts about himself using aliases - and the "I don't have a record of this client" response is convenient for him. Divorce, along with child support and custody matters are very difficult - trust me - Eric Shapiro is not the counsel you want advocating for you.

I used Eric Shapiro for my divorce and he did a great job. He helped make it go as quick and painless as possible. He listened to what my needs were, counseled me on the things I needed to be thinking about and at the end of the day made sure that all the boxes were checked, so I would have piece of mind that everything would flow the way it needed to. Check the Georgia Bar for many complaints , read the reviews here, and avvo. You will find that this is not a good lawyer. He will take your money and run. He lost me custody of my child after I paid him $1000's in retainer fees only for him to forget to file key paperwork in time. He will sweet talk you to pay his fees and then become impossible to reach. I completely regret hiring him .

Avoid Family Lawyer Eric Shapiro To call this attorney a shyster would be an insult to shysters everywhere. Eric Shapiro has no office rather he works out of a shared co-working space. He has no associates. He was cited by the Georgia Bar and promised to hire employees to help manage his disorganization. I hired him as a cheaper alternative to the "Atlanta family law mafia" but in the end I got exactly what I paid for. When we got to the court, the judge called him within the first five minutes of opposing counsel's opening arguments because he was texting. Here's an excerpt from the transcript. You decide who is telling the truth. THE COURT: MR. SHAPIRO, ARE WE BORING YOU? SHYSTER SHAPIRO: NO, YOUR HONOR. I'M JUST TAKING A NOTE FOR, ... INVESTIGATING SOMETHING (OPPOSING COUNSEL) MENTIONED. NOT AT ALL. THE COURT: GO AHEAD. Again, this was within five minutes of the hearing starting and opposing counsel walking through the petition - that Eric Shapiro actually remembered to bring. Read the reviews ... you can tell the ones he wrote himself. He has many clients that have had the same issues over the years since he was sanctioned by the state bar.

Eric is a fantastic attorney. He has helped me get through contempt hearings and a child support modification with great results. He's fair and will not run up the bill. I trust him completely.
