Was opposing counsel in my case. Much respect. Her client tried to lie and manipulate as much as she could to drag the divorce out. I appreciate them for filing for something I had been waiting on for years.

Disgusted to say the least... I had an appointment with Ms Walls today. When the appointed time past with no call, no show, I politely reached out to her. Only to be curtly told via text: "I forgot/are you available another time"?.... Excuse me?.... The lack of professionalism and rudeness in that response was next level and shocking! No apology what so ever, no proper greeting, just a curt: "I forgot". đźš©đźš©đźš© If red flags were a person! Thanks but NO THANKS mame.

Kemay talked a good game and then failed to show up in court the day of my hearing, then planned to keep my retailer until someone otherwise intervened. She then said she would take care of me with something else, and then had the audacity to keep reiterating she was doing it on the house- umm you are only doing so because when i gave you money to show up you failed to do so.I spoke to her one time regarding it and nothing since. I call, text, leave VM etc, nothing!!. She was also negative and shady about my other situation and me not being able to proceed in my career and CHUCKLED. Even if you feel thay don't have the nerve to say that to anyone that's come to you for help. It's always your own people. Save your money! Of all the people I could've went with pssh!

I was referred to Attorney Rouse after a few consultations I made with other attorneys that didn’t go quite so well. You can probably only imagine all the anxiety and stress that builds up by not knowing what to exactly expect (much like most) in an unfamiliar situation like this. I must say, most of my concerns, my questions and options were pretty much communicated to me in layman’s terms, I felt a sense of ease and quite impressed with my experience in every point of communication. Attorney Rouse was always professional and very patient with making sure he educates you on his knowledge and strategy so you will leave the conversation with some comfort in knowing that both parties are clear in regards to the desired outcome in mind so you just simply have to “Trust the Process”! I must admit by making the choice to choose Attorney Rouse for representation, the overall experience completely exceeded my all of my expectations. For anyone looking to work with an Attorney, who operates with integrity, professionally in such a manner that is not usually represented in the field of Attorneys(I really wish I did not have to point this out), I would definitely (highly) suggest that you reach out Attorney Rouse for consultation. You will quickly realize why you would choose him to represent you. Thank you for creating a safe space/ judgement free zone for clients and giving them an opportunity to be heard. I wish you much success in your future.

I had a complicated criminal case that changed through the course of the two year case. Mr Rouse handles things in a professional manner comprehensive explanation of the situation once its time to handle his business he does just that I thought I was going to prison but he was able to get my sentance into something manageable. When he walks in the court room you can see the respect the court has for his work. He talks to you like a person not like a paid client doesn't make you feel dumb if your not educated on a situation he will explain in a kind clear and consice way. If you don't know who to turn to and you don't wanna get lost in a larger lawfirm but need a legal warrior he is your guy. And he isn't a coward or scared in court he knows his stuff. Would recommend him for anything pertaining the law. If you have any doubts contact Rouse and associates.

In early 2021, we found ourselves in an unexpected situation and in need of legal counsel and advocacy. No one ever really thinks they need a lawyer until they do. We had met Mr. Carlton Rouse through a local YMCA where we watched him coach our girls’ basketball team. We had seen his character and calm manner in action. So when we found ourselves in a position where we needed legal guidance and someone to walk us through what felt like a daunting and scary process, Carlton was our first thought. From the initial phone call to the last conversation when our case was dismissed, Carlton has not only been the consummate professional, but has also been a calm in the midst of a storm for our family. His diligence with our case and personal care as we’ve navigated the legal system provided a sense of stability, peace, and confidence. He knows how to help people find their footing in difficult legal situations. If you are facing something that feels daunting and overwhelming, I cannot recommend Mr. Rouse enough. He will help you find your way through any legal battle with calm and resilience. I would highly recommend hiring him for any legal needs you may face.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Snellville, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
