I came to Dan’s office about 2 months ago for my landlord/tenant case. I paid him $300 consultant fee & he agreed to take my case. Here are my experiences: 1. I felt like I bothered him: The reason that most of us hired an attorney to represent us because we don’t have enough knowledge about laws & needs guidance & advise to help our cases. You wouldn’t get it from Dan. Every time I called him for advice, he seemed very busy & the answer I got from him was “I don’t know.” 2. I lost confidence in Dan: when the opposite counselor presented her pledge to go against me, Dan didn’t defend me at all. He mostly agreed with them even though they lied & tried to go against me aggressively. All he said was “it’s good & we’re going to progressive way.” He just wanted it to be over without caring for his client’s benefit. 3. I realized Dan didn’t expertise in landlord/tenant laws: when the opposite counselor presented all the laws to Dan, he seemed lost & didn’t even know about these laws. That’s why he couldn’t defend me at all but agreed with them instead. He made them misunderstood that I agreed with them & now held me accountable for something that wasn’t good for me at all. He could be expertise at other laws but not landlord/tenant laws for sure. I wished he was honest with me by the beginning & didn’t take my case. It costed me $1000 & He hurt my case more than he helped. I now have to hire a different attorney to clean up his mess. My advice: please please please do your research carefully before hiring Dan for his expertise. Otherwise, you will be regretted like me. I wished I had never hired him. It didn’t only cost my time, my money but added stress & losing trust. I was so stressed & didn’t trust other attorneys after Dan. It took me a while to finally find another attorney to represent me.
