Doc is the most professional and personal lawyer you'll ever have. He goes above and beyond every standard there is by miles. From offering rides on lunch breaks at court, to checking in on you after and fighting tooth and nail for you the entire time. Absolutely worth every single penny, he's was much more than just representation during the whole process, he was a friend. 5 stars is not enough.

One thing I can say is a first impression is a lasting impression; Doc was very thorough with me letting me know everything that I needed to know. He also made me feel comfortable. One thing I really can say is that he’s a man of his word and stands on it which made me comfortable with him. I’d recommend this lawyer to anyone in need .

Christopher “Doc” Upshaw did an outstanding job representing my daughter. Throughout the entire process he provided excellent service and kept us constantly informed. I highly recommend Doc Upshaw and the law firm he represents (Sanchez Hayes and Associates). He delivered what he promised.

Christopher "Doc" Upshaw did a great job of handling my criminal case. I was able to retain Doc at very short notice and he was able to work with me to get my issue resolved. I knew I was not guilty against the charges filed against me and "Doc" made sure that the courts knew it too. I highly recommend Doc Upshaw for any DUI criminal and traffic cases.

I give Doc Upshaw my highest recommendation. From our first meeting to our last, he was professional, prompt, and gave great advice. He did everything possible to make sure I got the best outcome. He is an expert at maneuvering the legal system and minimizing the impact of whatever consequences you may be facing. Using any other representative be a mistake. 10/10

Adam Younker will provide piece of mind for your legal concerns. I was very anxious about my issue in Coweta County before I retained Adam. Needless to say, He took great care of me. One last thing I MUST mention is that Adam accepted my case with LESS THAN A WEEK before my next appearance. He handled it as if he were with me from the very beginning. Adam Yonkers... An Exceptional Litigator at an EXCELLENT Cost. Worth Every PENNY!!!

Adam is hardworking and trustworthy. He has represented me for years and I'm always satisfied with the outcome. His aggressiveness is superb, you need a lawyer that will push the envelope. In my most recent case, Adam advise against every deal the prosecution offered and was willing to recuse the state/judge if we didn't get the deal I wanted in a 2 DUI case. Day of trial, we got the deal I wanted! In my experience with attorneys, you get what you pay for... sure you may be able to find cheaper representation but Adam is definitely worth his rate. If you need a dependable lawyer at a fair rate, call Adam.

I first met with Mr. Younker a few weeks after my arrest for DUI. I was nervous of course because I knew I wasn't intoxicated but that's not enough for court. After reviewing my case it was a no brainer we were turning down plea deals and fighting this thing. He walked me through every step of the way. Picked a jury, compared notes, he listened to me and any ideas that I could possibly bring to the table. We had a 5 to 1 acquittal in 20 mins. It eventually lead to the case being dismissed. It was a full on trial too, witnesses, videos, arguing, whole 9. He fought for me and won, I would highly recommend this man to anyone in need of a lawyer. Very fair priced as well.

Hello to all, I hope this review finds you well. I retained Anita Clark for an employment case issue with a former employer. I was looking for a lawyer that could handle my case, someone I can talk to, someone who would do honest work. I choose Anita because she seemed very up to date on employment law. She was nice but she meant business. This was a combination that I wanted. I wanted an attorney that meant business but could also negotiate and bring in results. Anita was VERY knowledgable about employment law. She has worked on both sides of the table before. She was very thorough and negotiated & communicated my case very brilliantly. I was above PLEASED with how she handled my case. My lawyer was able to secure an agreement without going to trial. Anita was able to do what many others thought was impossible. Of course, there are not any guarantees in these types of employment situations... but I was comfortable with Anita, whether it was in my favor or not, because I was confident that she would do her best and do a good job for me. That was the most important thing for me. I wanted someone honest that would do there best for me and my family. If you are looking for an attorney, I recommend Anita Clark. It is at least worth the initial consultation. I think you will find the same thing that I did, and that she is a brilliant employment law attorney. Many blessings and I hope that you find the right person for you.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tyrone, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
