Mr. Mickey Williams was one of the gentlemen that represented me in my HQDA mandated separation board. My ex-wife is military law enforcement and used her knowledge and position to try to ruin my life, my career, my relationship with my kids and have me lose 22 years worth of benefits. Mickey was able to rapidly and accurately see that the statements made against me were fabricated. He preparation and experience made it possible for me to finally tell my side of the story. My board went on for over 13 hours. Mickey had taken the time to ensure that his examinations were seamless and had the knowledge of all the facts. His questioning of my ex-wife, an agent with CID, caused her to show to the board how little integrity she has. His direct questioning led to her exercising the right to remain silent and refused to answer his questions. Mickey's actions saved my career. I am so grateful to have found Capovilla and Williams. I would recommend them to anyone that is the victim of crime in the military. Mickey has a superb understanding of military law and his no-nonsense approach to a case ensures that the victims story will be heard. I cannot thank him enough for the peace and hope that has returned to my life.

I picked Alex and Lizz after interviewing 7 attorneys and their offices total. Yes, I did free and paid consultations for 7 different attorneys over the course of months before choosing H&K. My case is about relocating with kids after a divorce. Most attorneys gave me the same advice on how to start my case, but Alex gave me different advice on how to start that would please the court system. It sat well with me. I took his advice and hired the firm. I also could see the experience and fearlessness in Alex when my fiance and I met with him over zoom for a paid consult. Simply put, we liked the vibe and felt we'd have strong representation. Little did I know I'd never see Alex again and all of my case would be handled by Lizz. Lizz told me from the beginning she has a very good memory, and she does. She picks up things from casual conversation and uses it later to your advantage. She remembers everything I tell her. She's got a lot of experience and she's very smart, she could tell how I was feeling and would push me along when I needed it or let me chill out when I needed that too. Again, my case was a relocation case and custody was at stake. I had paralyzing and crippling anxiety. Lizz not only handled my case really well, she handled me really well. If I had to ask her, I'm not sure if she'd say the case was harder or if I was! Long story short, I dragged my case a little longer than I needed to (due to anxiety) but it still was resolved quickly. And it could have been resolved even faster. Things I'll never forget about Lizz: * She's incredibly sharp. Like incredibly sharp. Like, my fiance and I work in fields where there are highly-educated people doing some powerful things, but Lizz's sharpness to us was extraordinarily unique. She's smart, she's intuitive, she's clever, she's fast, she's detail-oriented, and she's strong! * During my representation in front of the judge, some things were not going in my favor. I literally could see Lizz switching gears to begin fighting harder for me and protecting me. Which she did, successfully. But I literally saw it. In her tone of voice, in her body language, in the shift in how she sat in the chair. From the beginning of our meetings, Lizz never treated my case like another file #. She has passion and she cares. In the end, Lizz won my case for me!!! I hope when my case is completely closed that I never have to use family law attorneys again. But if I did, I won't even think about anyone else except Lizz. She's the real MVP.

I was introduced to Elizabeth Kuhn 2 years ago. She came highly recommended from other attorneys in her field. I was served with custody papers and at the time had no idea what this meant for me. Lizz directed me patiently step by step through what I could expect. I felt that her fees were reasonableand her knowledge was vast. During this process Lizz and her paralegal team made sure that I was handling the process well. If I had any questions they were very prompt with returning my emails and phone calls. Lizz gives a very realistic point of view to a very emotional process. She thinks clearly and gives accurate and appropriate directions, which provided me a level of sanity to cope with this process. She was able to argue my case adequately and resolve any major issues without my case having to go to court. I have and will continue to recommend Elizabeth Kuhn to all of my family and friends. I am confident in her abilities as an attorney and am forever grateful for the role she played in helping me get my life back on track.

Elizabeth Kuhn vigorously represented me during a child support matter against my ex. She always took the time to answer my questions and always made me feel like I was an important client, even though my case was a simple matter. She was knowledgable and professional and I was very comfortable withher as my legal representative. Her entire staff was amazing and always so helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. I was fully informed of the process and what to expect so nothing came as a surprise. I had full and complete confidence in Ms. Kuhn and her firm and I definitely know who to call in case I'm in need of legal assistance in the future.

I was referred to Kent after my car accident. My car was a total loss and I had injuries to my neck that worsened over time. After meeting with Kent in person to review my accident, I knew he would win my case. (which is exactly what he did!) What I liked the most about Kent and his entire team was their ability to listen to my concerns, and educate me on the process of the suit. Go meet him to discuss your case, and you will look no further for someone to represent you.

I'm not one too give up in a time of great hardships. I do teach and believe that we all need help from others sometimes. Lawmakers, law upholders, and yes LAWYERS! Hait, Eichelzer, and Kuhn brought my family together. United us for ever and I could never be more grateful.

A short title, but 5 words that describe my experience with Hait & Eichelzer. Outside of my professional life, I have been fortunate not to need an attorney. In these difficult times, I found myself in need of competent counsel, but I found so much more in Kent Eichelzer and his firm. Kent and his team's advice & counsel turned an embarrassing, disabling situation into a bearable circumstance.

I cannot thank Brad Simon enough for the outstanding legal support he provided to my son during a recent court martial in the Air Force. From the very beginning, I was deeply worried about my son’s future, as the outcome of this trial could have had life-altering consequences. Brad Simon’s professionalism and extensive knowledge of military law were evident throughout the entire process. He never gave us false hope or unrealistic expectations but instead provided a clear and honest assessment of the situation. His transparency about the unpredictable nature of these trials and the role of the panel’s opinions was reassuring and helped us prepare for the journey ahead. Thanks to his hard work, dedication, and exceptional legal expertise, my son was ultimately found not guilty on all charges. I am forever grateful to Brad Simon for his tireless efforts in securing my son’s future. If you are in need of an attorney who specializes in military law, I highly recommend Brad Simon. He is a true professional who cares deeply about his clients and their families.

POWERFUL! BOLD! PASSIONATE! STRATEGIC! Mickey Williams and Sean Flood brought such compelling presence to the courtroom that my grandson was able to walk away with a full acquittal. An opportunity to move forward and live life with a bright future. The knowledge of military law and how that system works was crucial for us. These guys are fierce and relentless in defending their clients. From the very start of this two-year journey, Mickey has always been honest and clear about the entire process. He was always responsive to any questions or concerns, always supportive and encouraging. These attorneys working together are nothing short of amazing! Our family is so thankful for this defense team, and we highly recommend Capovilla and Williams for anyone needing the best in military representation. Five Stars isn’t enough. We give them 10!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Woodstock, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
