I put my trust in the reunification process in the hands of Molly Mindy and her team of paralegals. I called her office almost two to three times week and her paralegal Brittany spoke to me like she was a therapist and constantly reassured me to trust the process and make sure that I did everything that I needed to do as part of my parent case plan to remain compliant. She comforted me over the phone at times when I cried and when I asked a million questions in regards to my daughter’s juvenile case. They are patient and will encourage you to stay in the fight. I lost faith at times due to worrying, which is normal. But I trusted the process and with Molly Mindy’s representation I got my daughter back! She fought for me throughout the whole process and argued my case to the Judge at every hearing. She is very personable, real and excellent at what she does and will go to bat for you as long as you do what you need to do on your part. Stay focused, keep your eyes on the big picture and trust the process! It is a long, tedious, and heart wrenching process but don’t lose hope and stay resilient and determined to fight for your children. I’m grateful beyond words for Molly Mindy and Brittany and Jasmine and her entire team of devoted professionals.

The first time I went to court, I was nervous. I met Molly,. She quickly assured me that she had my back and then she would do several things for me due to my substantial criminal background. She came back to me and informed me this is gonna be a very hard case, she did this all pro bono. She was very professional her paralegals, especially Brittany. Are freaking awesome. I would recommend her to anyone of my family or friends they go above and beyond.

DO. NOT. USE. THIS. FIRM. Let me tell you what will happen (also check Yelp), she will take your retainer, file a motion and then disappear into thin air. Try to set up a call with her, there's an "emergency", try to set up a meeting with her, she's "out of town", three consecutive times I tried to have my FIRST call with her she rescheduled, rescheduled and rescheduled. Doesn't care about her clients, just wants your money. I will shortly be filing a complaint with the bar and then I will likely hear from her. BAD BAD BAD

Lawyer Nick Warlick helped me when my daughters and I were involved an accident. He provided us with genuine concern and had our best interest at heart. He was able to get me a fair amount on my small case and I couldn't be any happier. He was very helpful throughout the entire duration of the case and was very respectful. I would highly recommend Warlick to anyone who is looking for a personal injury lawyer!

In my injury case I had hired 2 other attorneys, who did not return my calls or take interest in my case. I was miserable with my injuries, trying to recover and the people I hired to protect my rights. Out of frustration and ready to give up I sought recommendation through friends, and was given Mr. Dickinson name. Mr. Dickinson took my case in the direction that was needed. He is a man of action and true to his word. Mr. Dickinson and his team were responsive to me and let me know what steps were being taken and what was needed from me. He did not allow the apposing attorneys take the lead in the direction of my case; he truly battled them on the legal front. My case was unique in that is was both workers compensation and personal injury. His recommendation for a workers compensation attorney to assist was and excellent choice as well. Because of the work that Mr. Dickinson did on my case I was justly compensated for my injuries at last. I would highly recommend the Dickinson Law firm, he and his team will worked diligently on my case. On a score of 1-10 Mr. Dickinson would be a 10++.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Woodstock, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
