Pros
1
Effective representation in court, resulting in favorable outcomes for clients
“You really impressed me with how much you did and how hard you work as a court appointed attorney! I will be eternally grateful and hope one day I can pay you back with what you did for me!”
2
Knowledgeable and skilled in handling complex legal matters
“John deftly charted my course through three different courts, and secured an outcome which allowed me to avoid jail and restore my driving privileges within four months of my cases being adjudicated.”
3
Dedicated and caring towards clients' best interests
“Mr. Forbes has gone above and beyond to represent me effectively and has had my best interest in mind the entire time.”
Cons
1
Poor communication and responsiveness, failing to keep clients updated on their cases
“Since then I was told I had a court case, took time off from work, driving to Atlanta for my court date he text me and said that it was postponed and he would advise me when it was rescheduled. That call never happened.”
2
Lack of follow-through, not completing promised tasks or services
“We paid up front for a trust to be formed for a family member July 2012. With all documents in hand his response to the question of when the work would be completed was soon. Approximately two months later we have no idea of what work product if any has been completed.”
3
Concerns about billing practices and potential overcharging
“I literally paid $1000.00 to postpone the case six months (denying me going home), only to go to court to be educated on the fact that because of my previous infractions with the law I was ineligible for the plead he was 'trying' to accomplish for me. So I had to accept the plead wasting six months.”

I was arrested in Cobb county on December 23rd and spent a total of 90 days incarcerated after writing Mr Forbes three letters, many text messages, had the circuit defender's office email him and talk to him one time in which he did not recall any of the conversation. I finally bailed out of jail which was my only option since he wouldn't visit me and I still have yet to speak to him. I then requested new representation which is now set me back even further so I would definitely not retain this attorney for any legal matter.

Two, yes two years ago I gave John Forbes $1400.00 to help with me getting visitation with my granddaughter in GA. At first he was attentive with phone calls only or text. Seven months latter, still no court date or phone calls I contact him and ask what can I do to expedite my case and I asked if he needed more money. I live in FL so he gave me his account number and I went down and deposited $500.00 more into his account. Since then I was told I had a court case, took time off from work, driving to Atlanta for my court date he text me and said that it was postponed and he would advise me when it was rescheduled. That call never happened, I told him this was ridiculous and I wanted my money back. Imagine my surprise when he refunded me $300.00, for what! I spoke with my family and they said to ask him to continue with the case due to him being familiar with the case and keeping the $1100.00 for whatever little thing he did. Then came covid.... He text me once to say he had covid and would get with me once he was over it. That was October 2020. I text him (he didn't answer his phone) on 11/23/2020 I text him that I was trying to be patient but was getting hard to do, no response. I text him again (still not answering phone)Feb 8, 2021 Asking if this was hi normal business practice, still no response. I text him again 3/15/2021 still no response. On March 17,2021 I text him one last time. At no point did I get any response from him, I even checked obituaries to make sure he did not succumb to covid and nope he did not. Still to this day 5/3/2021 I have yet to hear from him, I basically flushed 1900.00 down the drain for something as simple as getting to see my granddaughter who lives with her other grandparents. Since then I have on my own addressed the other grandparents, we pick my granddaughter up and go off for a few hours with no help from John Forbes. He talks a good game but a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I hired John Forbes in July. He had to drive two hours to pick up a check for 5,000. We spoke about the case and he promised me that he would get in contact with my loved one and discuss the case further. No deal. He cashed that check the same day and it has hasn't touched the case. Time is running out and this guy lied to me and said it will take months to get a transcipt from the Fulton County Courts. I was told by a clerk that the Attorney could pick up the transcipt the same day. He has not so much as spoken with my loved one nor visit them. He is short when I called, and I feel brushed off. I am upset that he took advantage of me knowing full well that my loved one will need to fire him and it will take time to regain another another. Plus, we are out of $5,000. Please do not hire this louse.

It is so hard as a parent to find your son in trouble, but from my first phone call with Robert to my last email with Brad, I am convinced we did the correct thing by hiring Capovilla & Williams. Brad answered our emails and scheduled phone calls with us as we needed. He spoke to my son frequently throughout the process and worked diligently with him. We finally met him in person the day before trial, and he was adamant that we had enough time with our son. He was very empathetic and understanding. We even shared a few laughs in a very difficult time. Brad was phenomenal at trial. I noticed he kept my son in a positive frame of mind. After trial he kept him apprised as to what would happen next, the good, bad and ugly. I highly recommend the firm and Brad Simon. They are fantastic attorneys!

From the very beginning of my first consultation I felt a sense of security and promise! I spoke with Brad at first who definitely made me feel like I was in the right place. And soon after speaking with Sean Flood I was sold!! Sean and his team went above and beyond to make sure my GOMOR was filed locally. He educated me and went into detail on the scope of the allegations against me. From there he and his team went to work! Not once did I think I wasn't in good hands. I highly recommend Capovilla and Williams a hundred times over! Sean is phenomenal at handling GOMOR's!

I was referred to Kent after my car accident. My car was a total loss and I had injuries to my neck that worsened over time. After meeting with Kent in person to review my accident, I knew he would win my case. (which is exactly what he did!) What I liked the most about Kent and his entire team was their ability to listen to my concerns, and educate me on the process of the suit. Go meet him to discuss your case, and you will look no further for someone to represent you.

I'm not one too give up in a time of great hardships. I do teach and believe that we all need help from others sometimes. Lawmakers, law upholders, and yes LAWYERS! Hait, Eichelzer, and Kuhn brought my family together. United us for ever and I could never be more grateful.

A short title, but 5 words that describe my experience with Hait & Eichelzer. Outside of my professional life, I have been fortunate not to need an attorney. In these difficult times, I found myself in need of competent counsel, but I found so much more in Kent Eichelzer and his firm. Kent and his team's advice & counsel turned an embarrassing, disabling situation into a bearable circumstance.

I didn't know what else to do... I really was beginning to feel trapped... making just minimum payments on credit cards to try and stay afloat... this helped to maintain my credit but the challenge came when my commission and bonus structure started to decrease at my job... that's when I noticed my debt to credit ratio spiking out of control... Mr. Limbocker and his assistant Julie kept me at peace and I was able to go through the process of bankruptcy with the guidance of Mr. Limbocker which resulted in a successful discharge! It is important to do exactly as instructed... Mr. Limbocker will certainly lay out the best options for you... Mr. Limbocker is a professional and he has many years of experience! There is not a better attorney that I would have wanted to handle my case!! I cry tears of joy for such a new chapter of my life that also allows me to realize that the debt was truly a weight my heart was carrying... then Limbocker Law Firm came as a God send... and I'm so grateful and wish many blessings for the firm! Thank you Brian and Julie!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Woodstock, Georgia?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
