Mr. Goodman and his team made my experience literally painless.

Working with the law offices of Blake Goodman made a difficult situation as easy and effortless as possible. I never expected myself to be in a situation where I would need a lawyer. Blake and his amazing wife Blanca took such wonderful care of me. They treated me with dignity and kindness. They explained all of my options to me and we discussed a plan of action together. I highly recommend Blake should you find yourself in need of a lawyer.

We used Blake Goodman for some legal services that we required. The initial consultation was free and he really spent the time to discuss our issue. He and his staff are always quick to respond to any needs or inquiries that we may have. I am an attorney. When I first started practicing, I worked for a bankruptcy attorney in California. That's when I learned that there are bankruptcy attorneys, and there are BANKRUPTCY attorneys. Blake is a BANKRUPTCY attorney. There are many attorneys that do bankruptcy, but all they really do is help you fill out forms. Most bankruptcy attorneys only know one or two chapter of the bankruptcy code (Chapters 7 and 9). If your bankruptcy is at all complicated, for example, you own a small business, you need a BANKRUPTCY attorney. You need an attorney who knows which chapter of the bankruptcy code is the best for your situation. If you don't file under the correct section, instead of bankruptcy protecting you while you get back on your feet, it can destroy you. My bankruptcy was particularly complex. I had a small business, I had filed bankruptcy before. I was in a relationship as a reciprocal beneficiary. During the 5-year plan, my father passed away, and I had an inheritance. Blake guided me through all of it! He set up a 5-year plan under Chapter 13 - with payments I could afford. He guided me through the issues that emerged during those five years. He was so kind, supportive and knowledgeable during the entire process. I was not just "represented," I was "cared for". I recommend Blake Goodman wholeheartedly - no matter how simple or complex your situation has become. If you have more than just credit card debt, e.g., you own a business, you have a spouse, you own property, you are not a US citizen, your spouse is not a US citizen, you have property outside of Hawaii, etc., I strongly urge you to talk to Blake before you sign on with anyone else. Make sure you have an attorney that can support you all the way through this multi-year process - under the correct bankruptcy chapter.

The time I spent feeling shameful and uneasy thinking about filing for bankruptcy, I was looking at a few bankruptcy attorneys. I found that Blake Goodman's website is the best in detail of what to expect when you do file for bankruptcy. From the moment I walked into his office it was so calm and peaceful with no feeling of pressure. The first staff person I spoke to all the way to Mr. Goodman, I did not have any feeling of being judged or intimidated. Mr. Goodman and staff are efficient, quick, patient and thorough! I used this firm for my divorce in 1997 and have ended up with them again for child support issues stemming from that divorce. They were a little on the high side in '97 in my opinion but their rates haven't increased too much since then (now 2011). First class service with the divorce, now hoping for nothing less with support case. Retainer fee is very reasonable especially compared to some other HI law offices. Keep your records; they will only maintain them for 6 years. Looks like they would be able to enter the new millennia and put that stuff on disk for archive.
