Attorney greg dunn has helped me twice now with my debt issues. Greg is easy to work with and his fees are very reasonable allowing you to make payments. Mr. Dunn was the first attorney that I consulted with upon realizing that I needed to file bankruptcy after moving to the state of Hawaii (previously lived in Florida). I had done lots of personal research before coming to this decision. Mr. Dunn's reviews seemed promising so I scheduled a call with him for the initial free consult. Mr. Dunn sounds to be a decent man and attorney, however he most definitely is unfamiliar with people that do not yet have a 2-year Hawaii residency (which is required to use Hawaii/Federal exemptions). He insisted, despite multiple attempts to show multiple google results from different law firms, that I either had to choose to file in Hawaii and use Florida's exemptions (which are terrible if you don't own a home) or wait another year to file using Hawaii/Federal exemptions. This is absolutely incorrect and multiple attorneys (including the amazing Ed Magauran who I ended up filing with and getting a successful discharge with) state without a doubt that Mr. Dunn is completely wrong. As an attorney put it, "There is no circumstance in which you are barred from having ANY EXEMPTIONS AT ALL, and your instinctive understanding of that led you to the right answer. The Federal exemptions are always available when you CAN'T USE CURRENT STATE OR PRIOR STATE for legal reasons like you described." So if you haven't lived in Hawaii for 2 years yet, but need to file bankruptcy ASAP, do not use Mr. Dunn. Instead I highly recommend reading my previous Google review for my attorney, Ed Magauran. He's faster, more knowledgable, and significantly cheaper than Mr. Dunn! Thank you for allowing me the chance to speak with you over the phone, Mr. Dunn. Please learn from this so you can do better for your clients. Attorney Ed Magauran is the best in Hawaii, hands down!
