I need help with my divorce. Jeanilou Maschhoff advised me on my options and was very supportive. She was clear about what I could expect of her and was an excellent communicator. Jeanilou gave me time to process and was able to follow though with her stated timeframe. She is easy to talk to and realistic and trustworthy. I am so grateful for he help and services. Highly recommend her as an attorney and person.

With my small business, I've worked with many lawyers over the years and always had a bad experience (i.e. they billed me 5x the initial quote without any warning during the process, they gave me incorrect advise so that I would pay for something unnecessary, etc.) Finally, I was referred to Jeanilou, and although I only met with her for a consultation, I could tell she actually cares about small businesses and what is best for the client. After spending hours reviewing our documents and speaking with us, she ended up advising us not to move forward with our case. She didn't take a retainer and there was no hidden bill. She also did not make me feel stupid for past mistakes or for not understanding something and rather took the time to listen to my concerns and then kindly explain the best solution. The only downside is that I wish I had found her sooner! Highly recommend!

As a non-native English speaker, Jeanilou has a way of explaining legal concepts that is simple to understand. I needed to leave my joint business between my partner and I, while also navigating additional factors such as my initial investment, company debt, and being a guarantor on the lease for our retail store. Without legal knowledge, I had a very narrow view of what I could do in this situation. Jeanilou drafted an agreement that provided a clean separation with a transfer of shares and removal from loans and lines of credit. She also added protections for me from potential future debt and default on debt repayment. The most helpful things Jeanilou did were to let me know that my situation wasn't as bad as I thought, and provided me with several options that I didn't realize were available to me. I was able to talk through my options with her and come to an agreement that my former business partner and I could sign on to, while also satisfying my need for financial protections.

I had a consult call with Jeanilou and found her extremely helpful and specific in my questions regarding registering an LLC in Hawai'i. She was very generous in her legal counsel and super pleasant to have a conversation with! I had spoken with other attorneys and had left most of those interactions far more scared and intimidated of the legal situation I was in, and with the strong feeling that it was all about the money with these others. I'm starting up a record label and Jeanilou helped customize and tighten up the contracts I'll be using with my artists. She did an amazing job translating my requests about contract requirements and my non-standard business ideas to the page. She also helped with multiple revisions and walked me though the less accessible elements of contract law (I am a complete layman when it comes to nitty gritty contract stuff). She even saved me time and money by combining two ideas I thought needed to be separate contracts into one. 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a lawyer, and plan on calling on her myself if and when I run into any law related stuff in the future!
