I hired Ms. Ganz for my investigation and later court-martial and I have never regretted my decision. She not only fought for me until the very end but also took a huge burden off of me and gave me peace of mind until my court martial. I knew I was in good hands. If you’re ever on the wrong side of the law make the next best decision and hire Natanyah!

Natanyah was fantastic with my case. I hired her 15 months ago before my case even really began. She makes herself available for nearly any line of questioning at all hours of the day. She is incredibly knowledgeable, determined, and caring and it shows in her work. She took on my case passionately, diligently and aggressively worked every possible avenue she could. There was never a doubt in my mind she was doing everything within her power to give me the best possible outcome, shes a lawyer who truly cares and took on my case fighting tooth and nail as if she were in my shoes. I truly couldn't recommend her as legal counsel strong enough. She's compassionate and caring and even after 15 months has been tirelessly working to afford me the best possible outcome. Each step of the way came with a phone call explaining what our next options were, her recommendations and handing me the reigns to choose how I'd like to proceed forward. It was comforting to have her in my corner as she helped me navigate a very difficult time for me. She worked with me on an affordable payment plan, willing to negotiate a plan. Without getting into too many details, I fully believe my experience these last 15 months was in large part because of her. The Navy has never been kind to those in my shoes, giving way to a lot of abuse as the legal process works its way. From the start my process was largely quiet, I was afforded opportunities to take care of myself. Work a largely usual schedule and pursue avenues to seek help and live largely normal. Which is unheard of for servicemembers in my shoes. In some way or another servicemembers are harassed or given demeaning tasks. Anecdotal evidence at best, but I fully believe because I hired Natanyah so early on, and she made her presence known and my command and the Navy aware of her as my legal counsel. I was left largely alone, which was tremendous help during such a tumultuous time. Given the opportunity, I would recommend any servicemember with even a hint of any legal trouble or even questions to seek Natanyah for counsel or to hire.

I recommend her to anyone being wrongfully accused in the Military. She go above and beyond to ensure you get the best legal representation. She treats you like more than a client, will continuously update you, and will also take time out of her busy schedule to call and check in to see how you are doing. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable attorney.

MS. GANZ IS A PITBULL IN A SKIRT!!!!!!! THIS WOMAN SAVED MY LIFE!!!!! This is a long story. I was in the Army for 11 years and 8 months. Upon my duty to Hawaii I was assigned to my command. I went through a very nasty divorce and my command was not supportive. I was forced to move to a barracks room where junior soldiers lived as an nco (so let the targeting and shaming begin) after being homeless for a week sleeping on the beach and in my neighbors garage because my ex wife asked for a no contact order. She went to my command accusing me of sexual assault. My commander believed every word of it and almost surrendered my medical records to her without my consent. I became very depressed and turned to alcohol and other bad decisions. No one believed my story and rumors about me spread throughput the command because of the S1 shop. My wife made this report because I asked for the divorce. Two weeks later exact after I told my commander she was going to do this because she told me she was going to ruin my career. Last time we were intimate was january and she didn't report it till may. My ex wife went as far as getting her mother to cooperate as a witness to the lie. I would have had to commit this crime while my two children and her mother who lived with us would have been present. My commander put me in pretrial confinement and they released me after 2 days cause he had no grounds. My commander then made it impossible for me i had to sign it at the CQ desk. From 0630 till 2300 every 2 hours. Well he put me back in pre-trial confirment for 6 months. Well after months of research and discovering evidence Ms. Ganz was able to have the witness speak at the deposition where she was able to cross examine and pick her apart. She absolutely poked so many wholes in her story that they couldn't charge me with sexual assault. My commander was pushing for 45 years and i was released the next morning. Ms. Ganz got it down to time served. While I did plead guilty to the mistakes I made I dont have to bear that horrible burden of being seen as a rapist or a sex offender. This woman is a life saver and no amount of money can compare to how she will help you. If you are a member of the armed forces I highly highly recommend you use her for your services. You will not be disappointed.

I hired Ms. Ganz a few months back after being told I should sign a pretrial agreement that waived all my administrative separation rights so that the marine corps could separate me with an other than honorable discharge without having to do an admin sep board first. I actually wasn’t told that that’s what they were doing until I talked to Ms. Ganz. Another civilian military lawyer I talked to tried to scare me into hiring him and I’m glad I didn’t hire him because nothing he said would happen did happen. On my first consultation with Ms. Ganz she identified some mistakes that she thought the unit might make while trying to separate me and said to be on the lookout for them. She said we could use those things as leverage to get a better characterization of service because I wanted to get out anyway and I was actually on my way to EAS. I didn’t believe her at first, but then everything she said would happen happened. So then I started trusting her fully. She went up against a team of all male high ranking marine officers and military JAG lawyers to fight for me even though they tried over and over to beat her down, she didn’t let up, and we ultimately won. There were a bunch of others who were in the same position as me who didn’t hire her and told me they got kicked out with other than honorable discharges. I’ve been telling people that she is a bad ass lawyer and am writing this review so that other people in the military who are facing stressful legal trouble like mine will know what theyre getting.

I am absolutely impressed with her knowledge, understanding, and service she provided. I searched through and consulted with multiple lawyers before deciding on her. She is very understanding and listens to exactly what the clients needs are. She doesn’t waste time or file useless documents to increase her bill like other lawyers I have met. She is honest and will tell you the truth about your case, not give false hope. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great lawyer without breaking the bank and wasting time. Thank you Dominique for your continuous help.

I was going through a horrible divorce and custody issues. I had contacted and consulted with about 10 to 15 lawyers/lawfirms befire finding Dominique. I was about to give up and then meeting with her gave me hope. The others were wasting my time and money, playing games and not listening to my needs whatsoever as a mother going through a divorce. She listened, she got things done efficiently and we were able to settle. I am beyond grateful for the peace she brought to my life and the wisdom and efficiency she brought to my divorce case.

Mari did an excellent job helping with my divorce. I have never been through the divorce process before and after being married for 25 years it was difficult emotionally. Mari walked me through the process and explained all the options. She was prepared when we went the court. The divorce was expedited because of her excellent tactics.

I cannot recommend Mari Kishimoto Doi enough. She is professional, compassionate, organized, an excellent communicator, experienced and knowledgeable about family law and child custody, and above all, puts her client's needs and wants above her own feelings and opinions. I trusted her judgement completely while going through a contentious divorce & custody battle and felt that every step of the way, she had my & my infant's physical & emotional wellbeing at the forefront of everything she did. Mari was excellent at dealing with the high-conflict opposing party and did not get derailed by frivolous or irrelevant claims that had no bearing on the child's physical or legal custody or on my parenting. Although I hope I never need a family law attorney again, I would hire Mari again in a heartbeat.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Kailua, Hawaii?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
