Steve Wieland is a blessing to me, particularly to my peace of mind. He took over an Appeal with only 10 days notice. His Brief and accompanying documentation was at least 31 times longer than my previous attorney's. He immediately went to work, putting all his focus on it. He worked late nights and the weekend. He was very realistic about what he thought we could or could not achieve - but the resultant decision was beyond my expectations and way way beyond any previous experience with attorneys. I needed assistance in Boise and after using the bar association search and reading AVVO reviews, I decided to call Steven Wieland, who was offering a free consultation. His office staff was friendly, cheerful and accommodating and I was put through to Steve right away. I explained the situation we were in and after a series of questions, he said that he could not justify charging a retainer fee to "hold my hand", since this was most likely going to be heard in small claims court, there would be mediation first and if not resolved, no attorneys could be present in court anyway, and he directed me to where I could access information to file a answer to the suit and proceed. After contacting the county clerk, I was informed this was NOT a small claims case, there would be no mediation and there would be filing and attorneys fees. I immediately called Steve back, we discussed his fee and he went to work. He got us a satisfactory settlement, a dismissal with prejudice and assurance that credit bureau reporting was correct, all this in less that his projected estimate of time needed. All of this was handled remotely, as I do not live in Boise, and considering how intimidating this process began, Steve was kind, patient, professional and extremely competent. I wholeheartedly Wieland Perdue. Every aspect of this was actually a pleasure.

During a complimentary consultation, after explaining the case for which I was seeking an attorney for assistance, based on the amount of the damages being sought, he believed the case would be heard in small claims court (I did not have the case number with me at the time of the call). He further added there most likely would be mediation before the hearing, and that attorneys are not allowed in small claims court and to pay him a retainer to hold hands would be a waste of my money. He guided me to where I could find forms to file an "answer", surprised they hadn't been attached to the summons and gave me confidence this could be handled easily. He then added that should things change, to call him back and we could talk more at that time. It turned out that this case was NOT a small claims court case, with no chance of mediation, and included a filing fee and depending on outcome, opposing attorney fees. I called him back and he agreed to be retained, (although I knew this was not going to generate much income for his services), and quickly went to work. He managed to get a reasonable settlement out of court, dismissal with prejudice, meaning the plaintiff could not come "back for more" later, and ensured there would be no negative credit bureau reporting. In all of this, he was extremely pleasant, honest and forthcoming and I would recommend him to anyone in need of legal assistance within his field of practice. I feel so fortunate that I found him (through the bar search, and checking his rating on AVVO). He exceeded my expectations in every aspect of this situation and so say I am pleased is an understatement.

I have consulted with Steve Wieland on a number of issues and he has a very diverse knowledge base. He also does not hesitate to refer you to another talented attorney if he does not feel like he has enough expertise in a particular area which I feel like is the mark of a truly ethical businessman. I have been continually impressed by his confident authority while still maintaining a likable and charismatic demeanor. If you need an attorney, there is no one else I would rather have in my corner than Steve Wieland!
