Jake Hardee represented the Ex husband of a woman I dated. He was very good and she was penalized for not fulfilling her obligations in a timely manner. Two years later I found myself in a very challenging predicament with time constraints. The associate at the firm who took my call told me Jake Hardee would be my best bet and was he ever. In record time, he was able to elequently and powerfully sumarize my situation for the judge and get me a hearing. He not only turned my situation around… He managed to clear it up. I didnt have a chance without him. He is as good as it gets - he’s on top of the details and gave me a voice when I needed it most. His Legal assistant is also excellent. It takes a great team to do what they do and he has one. Jake’s skills speak for themselves. I am very thankful for his services and highly recommend Jake Hardee. He’s worth it.

Dan and team are the best, thoroughly organized, caring, tactful and ready to get the case handled with diligence and intention. I chose this law office because of Dan's many years of expertise and the background of my story, and I knew he would take care of the job. I cannot recommend him and his team enough.

While dating someone in Idaho, her ex husband hired Jake to help with enforcing a divorce decree. Jake was excellent and the woman I was dating was penalized for delaying her obligations. Two years later I am in a situation that required a very strong attorney to help me. I spoke to an associate at the firm who said Jake is going to be your best bet. Jake knew I was under a very tight deadline and managed to save me from what would have been a devastating outcome. He got me in front of the judge in record time and was able to turn the entire situation around. The favorable outcome was everything I could have hoped for. His team is very strong and it would have been a disaster for me if I hadn’t fallen into Jake’s and Jennifer ‘s (his paralegal) capable hands. I have worked with many lawyers and Jake and his team ranks among the best from my experience.

Pros
1
Highly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of law, especially divorce and custody cases
“He is very punctual. I am part of the rare cases that go to trial. Basically my ex is extremely difficult. I was baffled on how the first custody case turned out. Later she made false claims and I didn't expect the judge to take a felons word over mine. This left me with less custody than fathers who actually physically abuse their children get. After awhile I was finally able to hire Jake Hardee at this time and within one month he was able to get my normal schedule back. In less than a year he was able to get me very close to 50/50 and exactly 50/50 3 years from now.”
2
Effective negotiator and advocate for clients, fighting for the best possible outcome
“Jake is your attorney!!! He NEVER forgot the details & our goals, always got back w/us, the paperwork was professionally executed according to the laws & very well written, he's personal, caring & a wonderful negotiator & stayed on top of court deadlines & appointments.”
3
Provides personalized attention and emotional support to clients during difficult legal proceedings
“Jake always understood the emotional turmoil associated with the process and I took great comfort in his ability to relate and maintain the human aspect in a process that can quickly become very turbid and overwhelming.”
4
Responsive and communicative, keeping clients informed throughout the process
“There were zero communication issues, he is very punctual. I am part of the rare cases that go to trial.”
5
Excellent legal team with a culture of professionalism and respect
“THE. BEST. FIRM. Hands down. I worked mostly w Jake Hardee and a bit w David Kracke and given the circumstances, couldn't have asked for better representation and personal attention.”

Steve got me through one of the hardest times/experiences of my life. I was over the deep end and being the calm, efficient and excellent lawyer that Mr. Minert is, he was able to work with the courts to come up with a solution that allowed me to go forward with my life. Truly the best of Boise!

Kamryn is the absolute jam. I’ve never had such a garbage situation feel like a vacation before and that’s all because of Kamryn. Unfortunately I don’t have any delinquent friends but if I did, this is who I’m recommending. 15/10 for Kamryn.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Boise, Idaho?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
