I went in needing help with a small portion of my paperwork and he sat me down and put things in terms I could understand and even worked through the child support paperwork I was struggling with so much! He's a lifesaver! I wouldn't have been able to figure it out if it weren't for him! He was super friendly and knew what he was talking about.

I have had two very significant professional experiences with David over the years and he has helped me so much that I feel I need to share this with others so that they may find him. He does not need more business; this is public service message. The first time he helped me was to help resolve my deceased mother's estate. As anyone who has experienced this situation knows, the death of a parent is very sad and very stressful. It is also a time where family disagreements can emerge. I needed help getting my mother's small estate settled. My siblings and I could not agree on the method to do this. David initially was consulted to help all of us mutually. It ended up he represented me. He helped get this potentially bad experience resolve by guiding us to a very reputable and experienced third-party manager who for a very modest fee worked with all of us to settles the estate. David handled this with understanding, thoroughness and skill. The second professional interaction that I have had with David was with the unfortunate ending of my marriage from my spouse who I very much still love. This was the most significantly sad and distressing event of my whole life. Initially my ex-wife and I tried to use a 100 percent collaborative approach to our divorce. We had several young children and significant personal assets, and our mutual goal was to have a healthy, stable family relationship as an end result. As an inherent part of the collaborative approach, it was necessary to have both parties be represented by their own counsel. This led to the almost inevitable conflict as each lawyer represented their own client's best interest. A more adversarial type of divorce process developed as time went on. The end result was that I think occurred was the best possible outcome for me, my ex-wife and our children other than if a divorce and the reason for it had never occurred. David contributed very significantly to making this happen. I was very sad and very anxious during the process. He made himself available to me and provided careful, thorough and compassionate advice in a way that made it seem as I was his only client. That obviously was not the case. He has many clients who he was helping with similarly important matters. Not only did David provide me with expert legal advice but he provided me with very insightful personal advice to help me stay in the right frame of mind. When I would go off course in my thinking, he very solidly steered me back to a productive thought process in a non-judgmental manner. I never asked him how much he thought that the process would cost because I would have paid any price to have things turn out well. In the end, while the process was not inexpensive, the costs that I paid for his legal services were such a high value considering the amount and quality of advice that he provided to me. I think that David and I had a particularly good working relationship because we have a similar personality and way of thinking. He is very methodical, likes to his explain his thought process and the nuances to the decision-making process. He makes it very clear that the law and outcomes, especially in matters such as this are not black and white nor predictable. I understood and accepted that reality. Some people may come to the situation wanting their lawyer to tell them with certainty what will happen. Some people would only be confident in their attorney if there was arrogance and bluster. That type of person would not likely find David to be their best fit. For me, he was the perfect fit though. I told him many times that I felt like he was what it would be like if I had an older, much smarter brother who happened to be a lawyer. He cared that much about me and my case.

David worked with me for a successful conclusion of my case. While I realized that my case was not the only case he was dealing with, he always made me feel as though I was the only one that he was working on. His professionalism, courtesy, and overall responsiveness is the reason that I highly recommend David.

Mr Lohman handled my QDRO with ease. He took what was originally an unapproved mess done by a former lawyer in Cd’A and recreated the order flawlessly. I can’t say enough about his ability to execute with grace and excellence. The best thing about David is his communication. He responds immediately and kept me informed fully throughout the process! Invaluable! Hire him!!

David Lohman is a blessing to work with. He is diligent and very bright. He helped me through my divorce in such a way to where my ex and I are on good terms and both satisfied with the outcome of the project.

Absolutely the most detailed and informative attorney in town! I have hired two other attorneys on two different occasions, one for a work situation with an employer and another attorney for a child custody case – I wish I had met him before I hired either one of them! I know exactly how much money, trouble and work is involved when you have a bad attorney! Even if you have one currently and you are not satisfied, don’t be afraid to jump on with David. Well worth it in the end. DO NOT HIRE ANOTHER ATTORNEY BEFORE YOU CALL HIM – David Lohman was amazing and knew tricks and coached us to ensure we handled a very difficult situation perfectly. He returns calls quickly, gives each client the attention they deserve and has a passion for law. He is not over booked, and you don’t feel like just a number and a paycheck for him. I came to David with my back to the wall, due to the lack of the attorney I had doing the work needed and a spouse of 45 years vowed not to see me have anything. David Lohman is our favorite lawyer EVER. He truly cares about the work he does and was there for us every step of the way in the adoption of our wonderful child. Every time we visited with him, he devoted all his attention and resources to fit our needs and desires. The best part was his communication, he replies promptly to emails and phone calls or called us back right away. He kept us informed of what was going on with adoption, sent us emails and copies of everything that he filed with the courts, throughout the entire process! David is someone you can feel like you can trust and talk about anything. He is kind and understanding, and I don’t know what we would have done without him. We highly recommend him to anyone going through an adoption journey. With his superb communication, integrity, objectivity and professional knowledge of his work: he is the best person to help you. If there is anything, we need a lawyer for in the future we are going to contact David indefinitely. He is truly remarkable at what he does.

A couple weeks ago I contacted David Lohman regarding some issues in regard to my husband's mother's estate. I initially contacted Idaho Legal Aid and was given his name and phone number along with three other local attorneys. I spoke with David for 35 minutes about estate legal issues and I was very impressed with his intelligence, patience, empathy and advice. David was the only attorney I was able to speak to of the four that were referred to me by Idaho Legal Aid. In fact, I never spoke to any of the other three attorneys because I didn't make it past the receptionists or legal secretaries/assistants. I was shocked when David answered his own phone after only two rings. He answered every question I had and gave me sound legal advice that worked. In addition there was no charge for our 35 minute phone conversation. In addition to being very knowledgeable, David was a pleasure to speak with and we actually had a few laughs. If the legal situation my husband was facing had not been resolved by David's advice, we would have hired him in a heartbeat. Thank you David for your help, you truly were a godsend and my husband and I appreciated your pro bono assistance.

I looked David up because a friend needed a family law lawyer, and found that he had a well-deserved 5 star rating here. I hired him back when he was still doing criminal defence. I've never seen anyone who is better at what they do. It was amazing to watch him work. Yet I could even afford to hire him at the time when I didn't have a whole lot of money. A good lawyer AND a good person! The English language doesn't have the words for me to describe how awesome he is.
