Steve Raminiak is a knowledgeable professional that was able to guide me and my family during a difficult time when I had to take over POA for a family member related to healthcare and financial needs. He was able to help us navigate through Medicare and Medicaid needs and able to keep tabs on all documentation to maintain organization. He was an excellent advisor to understanding probate when we had to settle the estate for my family member. He has also drafted POAs and wills for my family and is always keeping us in the loop when laws change so we can update language as needed and goes over the information carefully and answers all questions. He is always compassionate and thoughtful, truly helping to guide us so we can make informed decisions on complicated but important matters.

Mr. Raminiak was hired by me to represent my father's special needs trust. He acted professionally and assisted me in less-than-ideal circumstances. His knowledge of the law with these matters is very extensive and his help was/is much appreciated.

We initially hired Mr. Raminiak to help guide us when a family member that had no living will became mentally incompetent and was committed to a institution. Mr. Raminiak got us legal custody over the loved ones estate and we’ll bring. The loved one passed on and with Mr. Raminiak’s guidance us through the court system to getting the estate settled. It was a lot of work to get an estate settled without a will, but Mr. Raminiak professionalism and timely correspondence got the job done. Mr. Raminiak made a difficult situation manageable and for what we feel was a fair price.

I was able to retain the services of Steve after he was highly recommended for a Probate Case matter in the Cook County Court System. A petition for guardianship was filed against a family member of mine. At the time of the petition I had Power of Attorney for my family member who was fully competent and also had legal counsel. After Steve reviewed the basic facts of the petition and our evidence against any type of guardianship he agreed to take the case. Steve not only prepared a defense against the allegations. He is also an expert in the field of completing a thorough accounting of funds. Steve completed a sixteen page report of assets and spending. This was for an eight year period which Steve submitted to the court. Along with his accounting document, numerous gathering of evidence documents, along with Physicians reports and most important was his professional presentation of Motion to Dismiss Petition in front of the presiding judge. Within a 20 minute period in front of the judge, the case was dismissed, ending this ordeal which began last November when the petition was filed. I have been communicating with friends and relatives about the skills and how easy it has been working with Steve. He explains every detail on what he is doing. If I had a question, he always took time to respond. If necessary he would explain it in layman's terms as to what he was doing and what was going on in each court proceeding. I highly recommend retaining Steve if you are facing a guardianship matter. I would definitely retain Steve and his seventeen years of law practice in this specialized field again if needed.

I have worked with Steve on a professional level and for me personally. His direct, straight forward, linear style is effective and personable. He is highly knowledgeable related to probate and guardianship matters. He was the guardian ad litem on a guardianship case. The other attorneys respected him and referred to him for legal guidance in their own cases. He was very calm working with the family, judge and attorneys. He remained objective, non-emotional and presented information concisely while being precise. He has the same approach with estate planning. He is very thorough and saved me a lot of time and trouble by assisting g with revisions to my estate plan until I move to the state where I will eventually retire.
