Bill Clark is one of the good guys of family law. In a system that is supposed to put children first, it seems to have been corrupted by people who are driven by money, egos and, and power. Bill is none of that. He is smart, empathetic, and an excellent reader of people. He understands human behavior. Not always easy to find. He will fight hard for you. He actually cares about the welfare of your child. If a parent unfortunately finds him or herself caught in what can be a very difficult situation you want someone you can trust. I highly recommend this law firm. I wouldn't work with anyone else.

This law office is extraordinarily responsive going above and beyond for their respective clients. You can expect prompt service and the highest ethical standards in the practice of family law. There is simply no one better in the Chicagoland area.

I was walking a few blocks in Chicago to have dinner with business associates and in a second my life changed forever! I slipped and fell on ice and ended up on my back and unable to move. Within minutes I was in a hospital getting evaluated. I learned that I had fractured my spine and needed emergency surgery and my outcome for the rest of my life was bleak. My wife and I were worried and scared of how we would be able to provide for my extensive needs. We reached out to Mitchell, Hoffman & Wolf. Ken Hoffman met with us and agreed to handle our case. He was clear and straight forward and made us feel like there was hope. Ken fought for me and my family to get a great settlement and was so compassionate and professional throughout the whole process. We couldn't ask for better legal representation and highly recommend Attorney Ken Hoffman and his law firm.

I engaged this attorney to represent me in a post-divorce case. I found this attorney to be less than professional when it came to billing matters. I will give few examples here He has another attorney - John who helps in drafting petitions. My petition moved around between these attorneys and each time I was billed twice given the agreement that I would be billed based on the “time spent”. As a result, for a simple initial petition, I ended up paying twice as much and the initial costs to file petition itself ran in to thousands. He has an assistant who prepares files for court appearances and submits petitions. She billed me for the time spent on “file preparation for the court date”. When William would write me a letter regarding the updates after court appearances, instead of emailing me, he would use his stationary - letter head. His assistant would then write her own elaborate email and forward me William's letter as a pdf attachment. For these simple administrative tasks (submitting petitions/memorandum to the court, forwarding William’s updates), she billed me at $250/Hr which is just as much as regular attorney rates in Chicago. He also drafted needless petitions without consulting me and billed me for the same. They were never used in the litigation. For the pretrial, his co-attorney wrote the memorandum and then he reviewed it, again did final review and then again spent time on it in preparation for pre-trial. The only point I am able to provide to his credit is that he filed petitions timely and was present on court dates. But I would have expected this from any professional lawyer. There are some reputable lawyers on the Clark street and in my opinion, this particular firm is not among them.

Mr. Heimlich and the attorneys at this firm do a great job representing their clients. I would highly recommend hiring them for a claim.

I first consulted with Josh Karmel to represent me in a case against Verizon. He turned the case over to his then partner, who was arrogant, condescending, and borderline verbally abusive. He treated being asked questions as an affront to his expertise. As a result, I terminated my agreement with them. Several months later in a related case, I went back to see attorney Karmel to discuss mediation. I didn't have a problem with him the first time. He said that he would help me. But he turned out to be just as difficult as his former partner. He he did not like being asked questions about the case and would not copy me on communication even though that was my main request in hiring him. In November 2018, he asked me to send him an email with my demand. I did with the understanding that he would prepare and file a formal demand to Verizon through the EEOC. He did not schedule anything for any of the mediation dates and I had to keep calling for updates on the case. He would tell me that he was waiting to hear back from the mediator or that he felt that my demand was too high. I followed up with him one day and he told me that the case was no longer in mediation and had returned to the investigation department. When the EEOC dismissed my case with a 90-Day right to sue, I requested my case file, including a copy of the demand that he had prepared on my behalf. Attorney Karmel still cannot provide the document. He said that he 'may have verbalized the demand to the EEOC mediator. Absolute nightmare. I would never work with him or refer anyone to him again.

I hired Josh as my lawyer a few years ago. Never again. He was rude, passive aggressive, never gave me any answers to any questions. Any time I ever asked a question, he acted “inconvenienced” that I even asked. If I didn’t contact him, and constantly nag him for answers, he wouldn’t reach out. He told me upfront what he charged and then tried taking more from me in the end. I do not recommend him!!
