I did not want to trust my legal matters to just anyone. I needed to work with attorneys who had experience and who were knowledgeable, and I wanted to have attorneys that would listen to me and believe me. I was facing some hefty charges, but I wasn’t guilty of those accusations. If I went to jail, it would be, potentially, for a long time. I’m raising a family, and I couldn’t bear to have that happen. I used to be in the Navy, and I am generally a very by the book kind of guy. Getting in trouble with the authorities was new to me, and I didn’t know how to react. I had no idea what I had done, and let me tell you, I’d never been more frightened in my life. This wasn’t what I had planned for my life, and if I didn’t get help, I knew my future was ruined. I hired Michael Schmiege almost as soon as we met. He was highly professional, and experienced.
