I was in a very complicated situation that involved an order of protection against my ex and then getting subpoenaed to his custody case and having to be a witness. My exes attorneys used my testimony against me and then submitted a motion to try to dismiss my order of protection. Being a victim of abuse causes a lot of trauma and unfortunately victims often do not have the resources and support that they need. I felt completely lost and helpless. I reached out and consulted with multiple lawyers. Dean stood out by far compared to the many other lawyers I spoke with. He was very responsive, great with communication, and was willing to answer questions I had at all hours of the day when most attorneys are not so easy to get a hold of and do not always communicate everything in a timely manner. But he took the time out of his day and what he was doing to respond to me and helped immensely with the concerns I was having in those moments. I think being able to openly and freely communicate with an attorney comfortably is extremely important. He did above and beyond what he needed to do for me and I am so grateful that I was able to consult with him. I highly respect him for that.

Even if you see it coming, being served with divorce papers feels like an unexpected gut punch. But what about when it's bundled in with a legal filing demanding sole custody? Many attorneys fight fire with fire as a way to "help" get the kids "back". Strong and stupid both start with the same letter, but so does stoic. My children are the main benefactors, and he would never expect for this type of debt to be repaid. I never felt gouged like I did with other attorney billing practices. With the benefit of hindsight, it is clear that the services provided by Dean's firm were worth every penny and then some. Frankly, I don't know how he and his staff put up with my petulant tantrums; I guess this is what makes them true professionals! All things considered, I am forever grateful to have chosen this path.

My ex dragged me into another battle. Dean did 3 huge things that caused us to be very successful. 1.) He help calm me down, I had a lot of fear and anxiety. 2.) Having to go through a divorce is difficult enough, but having to work with multiple attorneys across different states makes it much more complex. I was lucky enough to have Dean on my side! Had a consultation with Dean as I was considering changing lawyers. Talked on the phone twice actually. He is a great communicator, willing and patient to explain more so than the lawyer I’m paying. After 24 hours of contemplation and leaving him hanging, I decided that the timing was wrong for a change. He was very understanding. Wish I had hired him in the first place.
