Do not use this office even if referred (as I was). The client file (not very large for 18 months and $26k bill) sent to me contained stamped copies dated on things they told me they never received. Other notices I was never made aware of. Reasoning behind this why it matters to court rules. I had to scan and send subpoenas sent to my wife to them because they acted as though it was a surprise. (part of the "they had notification stamped of this") Later I find out that they just didn't explain to me how child support is calculated under court rules and why certain documents were requested. I also recently found out from respondent's lawyers of communications and things related that should have been sent to me 2 or 3 months ago. I attribute most of this review to Deb. I won't name the actual employee I think should find a new firm to work for. I retained Erin's office in 2022. Didn't have any contact with my daughter for 6 months and the only time I have after a year and a half, and nearing $30k to her office, is the archaic every other weekend and a weekday. Court recommendations have been done since April 2022. Respondent was allowed to just drag this on and on and on to a pretrial that cost $6k. Then the respondent side said what Erin's office said happened at the pretrial, didn't happen? One hearing later and respondent side is lying about a bunch of stuff, ignoring what the judge recommended, and get's us to a 2nd pretrial. Then Erin's office stopped talking to me and withdrew from the case. Saying I had to increase my monthly payments due to the remaining bill doubling from the pretrial and then 2 months later after the 2nd pretrial I would need to pony up the remaining $15k. I had already paid a whopping $11k over the year and a half. Just parenting time, not a divorce. They left a Discovery Request, 2 subpoenas sent to my spouse, a 2nd pretrial, none of the financials done and respondent is misrepresenting on theirs. Erin's office might bail on you and watch out for Deb. She never really listened about what the state things were in when she jumped on as partner. Then told me "but you have the judge recommendations from the pretrial", yet wanted me to pony up the remaining bill, drop another retainer. . . because respondent was hell bent on litigating everything until we just go to full trial? I had a letter from my mental health professional explaining a collapse in my PTSD state because it relates to family court as a child and things the respondent has done. After an emotional/mental breakdown during their withdrawal hearing, Deb pops in at the end and says I'm fine. This is where I'm left from their office bailing on me.

I could not be more grateful for Erin and her incredible team. Erin is extremely experienced and could anticipate every turn of my challenging case. From the first introductory call she took 5 months prior to me formally engaging her, she has offered advice to keep myself and children's interests the number one priority. I can say with the utmost confidence that she is always looking out for the kids and her client. She will pursue protections that may go above and beyond what the GAL recommends because she listens to her client's situation and understands their needs. Let's be real, the divorce timeline is not the result of your lawyer, but the whole system and how challenging the other side is with following the steps and motions put into place to move the case along. Without Erin, Emily and team I cannot imagine how prolonged the process could have been. I have and will continue to recommend Erin to anyone who is need of a great, fair and loyal lawyer to support someone through one of the most challenging things they will go through in life.

I wish I could give a -5. In my opinion Erin Wilson is by far the worst attorney in Illinois. My daughter and I had the unfortunate luck of getting her on our case. Every dollar I spent with her was equivalent to throwing it in a burning bush. It was useless. She was unprofessional. She was threatening in nature with her constant verbal attacks. She constantly made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. She lied on my 12 year old daughter and in my opinion caused her to get harmed. She was so unruly with her emotions and one sided view point of me as a father that my anger management instructor had a difficult time conversing with her yet along trusting her. After I proved she was lying about me not being around my daughter for FOUR years my anger management counselor refused to converse with her any longer. During her time on my case my daughter was assaulted by her mother and older sister and Erin did nothing. My daughter was almost kidnapped while being left unattended to. We view Erin as having and displayed, a ill tempered nature toward us in the case. So my family and I decided not to even mention it in court in fear that Erin would retaliate with more lies and beneath contempt towards us. If you have the unfortunate luck of getting Erin as a lawyer make sure you save every documentation. Take your complaints to the state. She’s not exempt from rules and regulations as a professional. She’s not exempt from being courteous and fair minded because she’s close friends with the judge. To every father who has the unfortunate luck of getting Erin in your case make sure you love your kids harder. Make sure you fight with every ounce of fiber to continue to support your children and for them to know you’re on there side through thick and thin and that you love them. Fight to be in your child’s life regardless of what Erin thinks. Show up for your children despite what Erin says. DO NOT TRUST THIS LAWYER WITH YOUR CHILDREN!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS LAWYER WITH YOUR CHILDREN!!
