Derek and his colleagues, not limited to Alexandra, are excellent attorneys who kept me in the loop on everything. The wheels of justice move slow but Derek was somehow able to "get it done" in what I believe to be record time. Although he had several cases going at the same time, as all successful divorce attorneys do, I always felt that my case was a priority of his.

Derek was a great attorney for my divorce and got me a very good settlement with my ex. He was there during crisis moments when i needed advice and good counsel. He was caring and a great ally. When i suggested, perhaps i go go to a mediator with my soon to ex, he didn't disuade me. He said, anything that moves the ball toward the goal line is a good thing. Derek Bradford is a dedicated, smart, fair and amicable attorney who understands how the courts and professionals work; he is competent where many are just not. His field is not one that makes anyone happy, and Tom Som's review is so clearly just false non-specific bitterness. Divorce cases take a long time, often years, and it's the fault of no single person rather the entire system. While going through a multiple years long divorce, Derek has always been up front and honest with me. He is the one who makes all the efforts to move the process forward. He is mindful of cost and recommends how to focus on dedicating legal hours to only the priorities. He advocates for and cares about what is right for me and my children, and has continued to represent me even though my ex has threatened and assaulted him and his associates. He is professional, on time, respectful and patient with clients. He succeeded in getting me an Order of Protection, and finds critical information to use in court. He knows how to sort through all the details to extract the ones that are compelling and effective in court. If you're looking for a divorce attorney, you should definitely meet with Derek in person to see if he's a match for you. Know that the world of divorce is lengthy, costly and painful no matter who represents you, and obviously the attorneys profit financially because that is their job. Derek is experienced, trustworthy and successful in moving clients through the process. His associates are equally dedicated, detail oriented and a pleasure to work with.

Derek Bradford completely mishandled my divorce. But it was very profitable for him. He manipulated the situation to prolong and extend the proceedings for almost two years. He antagonized and upset the opposing attorney, so that every issue became a major problem. His attempts to intimidate the opposing counsel and my ex, made everything more difficult than it needed to be. He suggested that other "professionals" be brought in to assist. These were expensive advocates and specialists he recommended. Each process took months and, in the end, didn't add value. When it was all said and done, my ex and I came to an amicable, fairly standard agreement. Derek extracted $14,000 from me in fees and costs. This was a major portion of the overall settlement. Be careful with this guy. You think he's one your side, but his eye is strictly on the money. His motivation is his compensation, not your outcome.
