When it comes to finding a good defense attorney, Michael Petro is great, and he's friendly and compassionate. With all his years of experience in the profession, cases pertaining to state gun laws is one of his many areas of expertise. After my gun collection got confiscated by the Oak Park Police Department (it's a long story), I applied for my Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card so that I could get the guns back from the police evidence room. Once I received my card in the mail, I called Oak Park PD to arrange a time to get my collection back, only to discover that I was being charged with possession of firearms without a FOID card (at the time of the confiscation). They had my entire collection as evidence, so the jig was up. The DA's office was ready to prosecute. I was really scared and worried about possible jail time ... even prison time with all of the hysteria out there now days about the need for stronger gun control laws. But Attorney Petro worked out a brilliant deal with the DA's office so that the charges were reduced to nothing more than disorderly conduct, which is only a Class C misdemeanor in the State of Illinois. There was no jail time or probation. Moreover, he also arranged for me to receive a court order to get all of my guns back. Talking about dodging the bullet with an added bonus! Attorney Petro's work was amazing, and his fees are very reasonable. I strongly recommend him for anyone in need of a good and very reliable criminal defense lawyer. MRegi
