I have recommended a business associate that was having issues with their current lawyer regarding a personal situation. Once this individual switched to Ellen the process progressed and was always handled is a professional manner. By all accounts she was responsive and thorough. Exactly what you need when handling delicate matters!

Quite possibly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. We called her about a small lawsuit we wanted to file against our former landlord. We were also hoping to ask for her services in selling her house. Also, my father owns a large property in Burr Ridge, which he may be selling soon. We had written a letter to our landlord she said she would review. She said her fee was $250 an hour, but it might not take a whole hour in which it would cost less. My husband sent her the letter and asked her how much he should pay, and this was her response: "Thank you for your email. However, I will not be reviewing your draft letter until you have hired me to do so. At our last phone call, you said you would pay for an hour on my website ($250) and send me your draft letter. I am sure you feel strapped for funds or you would not be contacting me about recovering a security deposit, but I cannot work until you have sent money. Please pay for an hour $250. If I can refund you part of it, I will certainly do that, but until you send money, I am filing your email." She did not make it clear that he had to send $250 beforehand, and it was not an unreasonable question. Her response was condescending and extremely unprofessional. And no, we are not strapped for cash, nor do we ever expect anyone to work for free. Huge disappointment. Her so -called apology when I objected showed either extraordinary arrogance or a complete lack of self-awareness. In any case, she doesn't make good business decisions.

I found Ellen efficient but arrogant and dispassionate. I had paid her to draw up a will but due to personal issues (including being in a head on collision) i was unable to complete reviewing and finalizing the will. When i called to set a final appointment she didnt call back. When i called a second time she answered and said she doesnt want my business and hung up on me without explanation. Of course she did not return my money. Be careful.
