Horrible experience !! He didn't anything but take the checks..

I would question the ethics and integrity of an attorney that appears to agree with his client posting libel and harassing comments about people he/she continues to post about regardless of not being any truth to those comments. Even considering some of them are his peers. That seems like it would be a conflict of interest and questionable. Even if this attorney also has good reviews. In addition , it appears that supporting a clients blatant disregard for legal documents would be an ethical concern. I would question this decision. Unfortunately for Mr Chiero his former client has added him to her list of negative posts. It seems like anyone that she doesn’t agree with gets the abuse. Her character is flawed. This is my opinion. I don’t believe Angie Kotler is a client as well.

Missed status cases, didn’t reply to requests for discovery, essentially ran up his attorneys fees as a sub par lawyer.. good luck!

Best Attorney in Illinois! Cannot recommend enough if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing a Divorce attorney. Very intelligent, knowledgeable, caring and goes out of his way to make sure his clients have the best outcome possible; all at a very competitive price. I would not trust anyone else with my business!

Michael is smart, articulate, honest and ethical. An extremely knowledgeable Attorney. Responsive & calming during anxious times and On point with helpful precise answers. He has mastered the balance of representing fairly and effectively and also aggressively, swift and abrupt when needed in the delicate environment of Family Court. Found the right attorney!

I have worked with Michael as opposing counsel, hired Michael for a personal matter, and have also referred clients to him. In all aspects he was polished and exceptional. Michael is no-nonsense, kind, well versed in this difficult practice area and professional. While I question the validity of some of the reviews, I will say that sometimes people expect a miracle outside of what the law can provide or for their attorney not to charge them. That said, besides being an excellent practitioner, Michael is more than fair and has done a great deal of pro bono work for people in need throughout his career.

Michael is a diligent and extremely knowledgeable attorney. He helped me in a very stressful and hurtful situation. He saw right through dishonesty on the other side and articulated our position perfectly to the judge. Michael will not just tell you what you want to hear to get your money. If he doesn’t agree with you he will tell you, which I find to be very respectable. He is the only attorney I’ve ever retained who fights for what is right. If you are dishonest with him, he will know and you probably won’t like what he has to say to you. He definitely “calls it like it is”. I continue to work with Michael by phone even though my case has been transferred to a county outside of his area. He is the only attorney I trust.

Michael has been my Attorney for over five years. I had several attorneys before him and they were pretty awful and fairly incompetent. He has been a godsend in what is a very imperfect and unfair judicial world for me and my daughters. He is without question the most talented, well-versed and well-respected attorneys in family law in Illinois. He knowledge of the statutory law and case law is unrivaled and his reputation as a litigator ends up saving his clients an immense amount of money because, quite frankly, other attorneys are intimidated by his skills as a litigator and encyclopedic knowledge of the law. The judges respect his opinion immensely and listen to him. As someone whose father was a high-level US attorney I can recognize talent, compassion and integrity when I see it. If you are a good person, have nothing to hide, and want someone who will be a strong advocate for you, Michael may be a good fit for you. He is a straight shooter in a profession where that is virtually unheard of. If you lack integrity and have something to hide he is not going to lie for you, cover anything up for you, nor do anything unethical for you. There are many other attorneys who would be a better fit and would gladly take your money without a care in the world. If you care about your kids and want to be treated fairly in the court system, then he is worth speaking to.
