I was facing criminal charges for a second DUI arrest and wanted to change lawyers due to my first attorney lacking experience with the process of relocating out of state during the case period and basic knowledge of 2nd DUI offenses. I reached out to several lawyers over Christmas break and was referred to Joel through my mother's friend. Joel was very responsive and appeared genuinely concerned when I told him my situation over the phone. He gave me positive feedback of how the outcome of the criminal case will go and ensured that everything would go as planned. He knew exactly how to handle switching lawyers during case period, what motion to file with the judge for me to relocate to Colorado and how to handle all aspects of the 2nd DUI criminal trial with the state's prosecutor. Joel was able to negotiate a stipulated bench trial with the state prosecutor in exchange for a guilty plea to the lesser charge of using electronic device while driving and stopped the judge from proceeding with his decision without first giving opening and closing statements, which is huge! He effectively presented the facts of the case proving my innocence, my professional background information (That I gave him right before the bench trial) and got me a NOT GUILTY verdict for my DUI criminal charges! This was in DUPAGE COUNTY, IL! One of the toughest counties to win any judgment! I highly recommend Joel as an attorney for ANY of your DUI cases!
