This is a bit personal, but it's important to share how much I support Karissa Anderson's ability and willingness to make a difference when others won't. I have used the legal services of Karissa Anderson Law twice in the past 12 years. Both instances were to protect the best interest of my family and secondly... seeking the best wellbeing for my daughter. Time and again I've heard the saying, "If you're a man in Lake county, IL, you won't be getting custody or a fair custody agreement with your child." In reality, I've seen that saying come true for others way too frequently. This was not the case in my scenario, because Karissa persuaded the court to see the facts. With her diligence & tenacity, combined with the guardian ad litem's willingness to explore the facts... I was able to gain custody of my daughter. My daughter flourished as a result of pursuing her wellbeing and I am forever grateful to have met and used the legal services of Karissa Anderson. I wish I had found Mr. Spitzer as my first attorney, I'm grateful that I found him in time to finish the job. There was an immediate sense of relief for me upon hiring him. After months of being blown off by my first lawyer, Mr. Spitzer took the time to listen to what I was saying, to really understand the nature of our adversary. In the midst of rants about all the awful things I had been dealing with, I would hear the sound of his keyboard clacking after I let out details that would actually have an impact on the case. I knew he was paying attention, and I knew he was able to cut through the noise that I myself was making. He was always very even keeled, always shot straight with me, and was always ready to point out the erroneous advice I had previously received. He never filled my head with unrealistic expectations, and he never let me get discouraged by the setbacks. He knew when to keep pushing, and he knew how and when to say that we'd gotten as far as we could. Nobody gets everything they want in these matters, and while some of the compromises I had to make were hard to swallow at first, what I walked away with was objectively the best case scenario for myself and my daughter. It's a small outfit, just him and one paralegal (Ms. Galvez). They were both easily accessible, both able to address any needs in a timely manner. I can't recommend them highly enough.
