I was a respondent in a Domestic Violence case. My case was complicated, and an additional obstacle for me was that English is not my primary language, so I was looking for a knowledgeable, effective and trustworthy bilingual (English -Polish speaking) attorney. Kasia Malkinski was a perfect match for me. She found a satisfactory resolution - my case was modified from no contact to yes - no offensive contact with with my wife. I was also allowed - as a defendant- to travel outside the State of Illinois before the time of the final trial. Finally my case - thanks to Kasia Malkinski - ended in a dismissal. I was a Respondent to a petition for an emergency order of protection. I hired Kasia to defend me against the allegations in the petition, and to ultimately get the case dismissed. She was absolutely great during the plenary hearing (which determines whether a permanent order of protection is granted). Generally speaking, she has a very strong court presence. She is fearless, articulate, and adapts very well on the fly. She systematically discredited and disproved just about every allegation in the petition through a combination of cross-examination, production of documentary evidence, and other testimony in support of my case. Her closing argument was extremely compelling and impressive. It was apparent throughout the plenary hearing that Kasia is a very gifted attorney--her legal skills are exceptional and she advocated on my behalf with remarkable and relentless zeal. In the end, the judge denied the Petitioner a permanent order of protection, and dismissed the case due to a lack of credible evidence.
