I was getting calls from some company threatening legal action against me over a payday loan that was defaulted on. They began saying I would be served, and if I didn’t appear I would go to jail, and they were suing me. The people became aggressive demanding I make a payment then, and there to keep from being prosecuted. I didn’t know what to do, but I knew it was illegal for them to make those kinds of threats. I informed them of my rights, and I began searching online for consumer law help. I came across Atlas Consumer Law almost immediately, and called them up. Within a few short days they called me back to follow up with me letting me know they would be handling everything from that point forward, and I had no worries! They aggressively went after the company that was harassing me, and found out the owner had no idea of what the people were saying. They didn’t even really have the funds to operate, and were shutting down. Atlas didn’t care about their situation. They sued them anyway, and the “collections agency”, backed off. I didn’t get another phone call or email from them at all, and within a few weeks I had an update letting me know they were taking the company to court. The company failed to represent themselves, and even claimed they didn’t know they had been summoned to appear. Atlas still kept on them relentlessly, and within a few months called to inform me that my case had been won, and I would be receiving $500 in a settlement from them. I got a call the other day to let me know my check was in the mail, and I would have it soon!
