Kathryn has been a blessing. My divorce has been super stressful and Kathryn has made me feel much better about the whole thing. Whenever I have questions or concerns, she is always there for me. She is realistic and understands the best approaches to take. My situation is not pleasant and required someone skilled, dedicated, and persistent...that was Kathryn. I appreciate her so much and I am confident you will too. I highly recommend her.

I hired Kathryn to handle my divorce. At first she was very responsive, but as we approached our trial date she became less and less available. I asked her at the very beginning if she could fully defend a father and she said she could. I also made it very clear that I was fighting for 50/50 parenting time and equitable division of assets, something of Illinois divorce court does not normally do for fathers. On the date of trial, we had a pretrial conference where my ex was awarded an significantly inequitable amount of assets and future income (maintenance and child support). Her response was that it is only money and I could make more. After the divorce was final she sent me an extremely large bill and when I questioned it, she chastised me and stated she has a kid in college. So to her, money only matters when it’s going to her. She also advised me to give up my interest in my ex’s pension for a present day value. At the time, I was pretty sure this was the wrong choice and questioned her. I ended up going against her recommendation because everyone (lawyer, accountants, etc) I have talked to since have told me I made the correct decision. I’m guessing if I was a women she would have put real effort into my case, but I caution and father who wants to get equal time with their kids and equitable division of assets to avoid her. There are enough things against fathers; your lawyer should not be one of them.

I highly recommend this law office. I had a disorderly conduct which was all set up. He did an outstanding job handling my case. I was referred by a friend. I was not disappointed at all. I used Fred for an area outside his area of expertise, sales tax law. The state of Illinois levied an enormous fine on my business and Fred saw the entire arduous 5 month process through to result in a fine of half of what the State wanted. Fred showed them the absurdity of their claim and the fine was reduced. The state will always extract a pint of blood no matter who one hires however, I will definitely use Fred again in the future.
