EVA TAMELING my “LIFESAVER” and “GOD sent ANGEL” rescued me from the mouth of lions.. I had no representation and I was in the end of my divorce, with trial only days away.. I DESPERATELY needed legal representation but I was denied, ignored, bullied, disrespected over looked by my EX with his lawyer, who were ready to devour me by taking advantage in taking everything from me. I was OVERWHELMED with cruelty and trauma from my Ex. Who was trying to take my daughters wrongful death settlement that I invested into My new built home. so I needed help from A POWERFUL LAWYER like EVA TAMELING! Praise GOD for answered PRAYER this INCREDIBLE WOMAN took my case HALLELUJAH! When I called her office , she was on vacation, I explained my desperate SITUATION to them then they called her !! AND EVA TAMELING CALLED ME BACK FROM HER “CELL PHONE” on a “SUNDAY NIGHT”!!! What??!! My previous two lawyers NEVER EVER gave their cellphone numbers to me. BUT EVA TAMELING not only took my case last minute, she significantly lowered her rate, to help me, she saw how desperately I needed help. what a COMPASSIONATE WOMAN! A true blessing from GOD!When I met with her I had my files and a picture of my daughter Jessica who was murdered at 21yrs old by her ex boyfriend. EVA asked “who is this”? I said “ this is part of the divorce fight”, I received a wrongful death settlement then got married and put all the money in the new house so we can save more in retirement and now they are forcing me to sell my house so they can take my equity and pay his lawyer. This was VERY SCARY, OVERWHELMING and TRAUMATIC and Only those who experience Narcissism behavior can understand and relate. They exhaust you to give up So you can lose. But EVA was ready she would fight for me and do the work that was needed. The work that previous lawyers did not do and failed me. But EVA believed in me and she was COMMITTED by working very hard on my behalf. EVA became DEDICATED TO MY WELL BEING and future care. I FINALLY FELT “SAFE” w/a lawyer like EVA because she TRULY and GENUINELY REPRESENTED me. . There are all kinds of lawyers out there and most are cold hearted that treat you like a number not a person that is undergoing trauma. They just don’t care about you in what you lose, what you end up with or where you’ll live or your financial trauma that you didn’t ask or plan for. BUT EVA TAMELING and her FIRM CARE! They are the most caring compassionate LAW FIRM I have ever experienced and witnessed. I can PROMISE you this that EVA TAMELING is full of INTEGRITY and WILL DO EVERYTHING SHE CAN TO REPRESENT YOU! EVA fought for my home and I got it! Praise God!! EVA got my maintenance and 401K. I wish I had EVA from the start then I would have gotten everything I was entitled to and the EX wouldn’t have been able to hide anything. EVA is so understanding and EXCELLENT in COMMUNICATION remembering everything you tell her, she truly pays attention . Even when it became exhausting, draining due to the uncooperative stubborn EX and his lawyer dealing with their dishonesty, EVA NEVER grew tired, She is what you would call “DEDICATED ”! The world needs more LAWYERS like EVA TAMELING . She is ONE CLASSY INTELLIGENT BEAUTIFUL WOMAN OF GOD that is FULL OF “INTEGRITY and GOD FEARING. SHE IS WORTH waiting for AND traveling to. EVA is the LAWYER you definitely need in your divorce case.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS AMAZING WOMAN who HELPED me get everything I needed and wanted that was important to me. EVA stands for TRUTH and JUSTICE and what is RIGHT and fights hard for it. SHE is PASSIONATE HONEST in what she does! In all my life I have never witnessed a LAWYER that worked as much and as hard as EVA does! She works on Saturdays, that’s unheard of. EVA made sure everything was in order for me with QDRO, making sure everything was correct so there would be no delays. she CAREFULLY and THOROUGHLY READ EVERYTHING for me making sure I understood everything.

I went to a referred law firm and was promised the moon and the stars and then they stuck me with with a new associate against my exes season attorney so needless to say it did not go well. After my divorce was final, I needed to go to court again to find out my attorney was in jail. I wanted to get away from that firm. Eva was recommended to me during my divorce, but I was left alone with three children ages 2 and under, working full time, and maintaining a house that I could barely breathe. I figured it was time to try her now. She was amazing! So smart, so caring!! She went up against my ex and his seasoned attorney and completely won the case for me. I know if I had her from the beginning my outcome would have been different, but I can't change that, but I can recommend her to others so others don't have to go through what I have gone through.

I was married 32 yrs. Working in the family business after giving up my career for the business. I knew Eva from church and thought that she had mine and my children's best interest at heart. My marriage was abusive on many levels. Eva empathized, but in the whole year that she was my lawyer, she never got as much as a Gas bill paid. My abusive ex was living in the home throughout this process. I had to stop proceedings because of lack of finances. She took me to court to pay her remaining bill of $7000 and she did nothing for a year. Loosing this battle gave an abusive man POWER over fear and finances. That year of procrastination gave my ex time to hide his assets and made it impossible for the next lawyer to get any money. I walked away from nearly $150 million and needed to pay another lawyer $30K to clean up other trumped demands. I ended up with a home in disarray and a 12 year old vehicle.

Three years ago I went through a terrible divorce and due to poor representation of my case from another law firm I lost everything except thankfully the full custody of my four children. My kids and I have struggled with a lot of financial setbacks and hardships since my divorce finalization. As I was faced with my ex-husband continually dragging me back to court, I felt hopeless and intimidated by the thought of having to represent myself pro se since I had been turned away by nearly every law firm due to insufficient funds. With just a few weeks until my court date someone referred me to the Law Offices of Tameling & Associates. I was so relieved to have found and hired a lawyer, Eva Tameling, who cared about my situation and was so grateful that Eva was willing to take my case and has allowed me to work with her at a reduced rate that I can afford. After my first consultation with Eva I felt hope and faith that I had a lawyer who would provide me with strong representation and had the best interests for my kids and me. Her office has always been polite, empathetic, very helpful and prompt with returning phone calls and emails. It is refreshing that Eva has continued to take time to help and represent me while working with my limited finances. When faced with any issues regarding things such as child support, insurance, taxes, alimony etc. Eva has been very knowledgeable and insightful. I am very appreciative of Eva’s guidance, support and everything she continues to do for myself and my family.

I hired Joe to mitigate an employment settlement. Joe was open and honest during our initial consultation, setting me up with realistic expectations. He described my options as well as what the next steps would be for each choice. He gave honest advice regarding which was best in his professional opinion. Joe is hard-working and highly responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls. He is an excellent communicator and is always professional. On top of that, Joe lent an empathetic ear during the tumultuous route the settlement took, and even gave me some excellent life advice. It became clear to me early on that Joe has a LOT of professional experience and he was confident during each step of the settlement process. I was very happy with the outcome of our settlement and with the work Joe did. I highly recommend Joe if you are looking for an attorney. He has made a client for life!

It is difficult to express my full appreciation of the work that Ms. Bennett and her team accomplished in what I would consider a difficult divorce. Although, by definition it was a collaborative divorce process, it seemed at times to press the boundaries. Ms. Bennett’s strengths that successfully brought my case to a close were her knowledge of the law, her scope of experience and skills, her compassion and professionalism, and most of all her tenacity. The determination and effort she placed on the final push to bring my case to a successful completion was impressive!

Margaret Bennet teaches lawyers' associations about the ever changing field of family law. I have attended her presentations which are informative, interesting and on the cutting edge of new laws because Margaret is also called upon to assist in writing new legislation. Further, I have met two young lawyers who worked for Margaret when they started practicing Family Law and they are now renowned in the field in part because they apprenticed with Margaret.

I hired Margaret to help with my divorce. My ex-husband did not have an attorney and we needed someone that could help create an amicable agreement. Margaret helped navigate all of the potential pitfalls and really helped execute the divorce quickly and made it as simple as possible. She also helped greatly with how to handle our two children and was a wonderful advocate on their behalf.

I’ve used this firm on multiple occasions both civil and criminal. They have always advised properly and the end result always played well for me, and I’m just not lucky even though I own a horseshoe. When at the table choose Botti law firm as the play.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Oak Brook, Illinois?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
