Dom and Pat came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. They are a team. Pat seems calm and unflappable and Dominick was the big personality guy. This approach worked for me. I was very satisfied with the outcome of my case. The support staff was friendly and professional. Everybody at the firm seemed to be working on my case and knew what was going on every time I had any questions. They made me feel like I was more than just a file and that they actually cared about me as a person. Great result, great guys. Thanks!

Dom and Pat are two of the finest men I've ever met. I received two duis and my life was a disaster. They showed me caring and compassion and genuinely seemed to care about me as a person. They managed to resolve my legal problems and helped me to get sober and get my life back on track. I will forever be grateful to these two guys. They are an awesome team and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a lawyer. Smart, funny and professional. When I was at a low point and couldn't imagine my life getting better, these guys were there for me.

I hired mr Dolci to represent me for a felony drug charge. He won my case by filing a motion to prove the cops didn't have probable cause to search my car. He made the cop look like a liar. It was great! The case was over in two months and I walked out a free man. We hadn't even payed our full fee to him. He offered to waive the balance of his money. I payed it anyway. This is the guy I want in my "favorites". Awesome dude. Also, he's funny as hell.

Brad has represented or advised me on the following matters: - Real estate - Business formation - Equity disputes I've always avoided legal issues because often the stress they cause is just not worth it. But when you're stuck, you're stuck and Brad has proved to be my safety net on multiple occasions: He saved a delayed real estate closing that was mistakenly due to federal security issues. He helped my company incorporate, and resolved an equity dispute within the company. All of that's great but the reason I keep working with Brad is because he's attentive and professional. He takes his time to understand what I'm dealing with and responds with professional advise, even if that means referring me to another attorney.

Mr Sayad did a wonderful job and was very informative when reviewing my case. He did a great job in court and put my mind at ease. This was for a traffic issue where my car was hit and I was issued a ticket by a police officer who was not present. Mr. Sayad went over all the facts with me, prepared a strategy and everything was to my satisfaction. I will be working with him again.

Brad did an excellent job for me in the sale of my existing residence and purchase of my new residence. There were some complicated issues that could have derailed both deals. However, Brad was very proactive. He performed a full assessment of the legal and other implications surrounding each deal and provided me with extremely valuable advice. The advice provided saved me time, money, and ultimately a lot of stress. I have worked with two other real estate attorneys prior to finding Brad. Brad outperformed my previous attorneys in every way. Excellent experience overall!

I have known Vince Ditommaso for over 9 years now. He is one of the best attorneys, if not THE best attorney in the Chicagoland area. I met Vince in 2005 shortly after my son's father died. I was referred to him by a friend of the family. During this most difficult time, he was our pillar of strength. Vince represented my son and I in probate court in a very nasty estate battle. I am happy to say that we won the case. We could not have done this without Vince's expertise. He is truly a master in negotiations. He can be tough, yet very savvy. Vince Ditommaso is an expert attorney in many fields. If you want to win your case, hire Vince today!

Vincent is an incredible lawyer. He was easy to talk to and always kept me fully informed. Vincent knows how to get the job done and get the job done right. Without him, I'm not sure my case would have been as successful as it was. I will forever be grateful and honored that Vincent took my case.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
